the job include the following:\nEngineering Leadership:\nLead and mentor multiple engineering teams across backend and mobile domains.\nDrive engineering strategy, technical roadmap, and execution planning aligned with business objectives.\nBuild high-performing teams through hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development.\nFoster a culture of innovation, ownership, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.\nBackend Platform Ownership:\nOwn architecture and development of scalable, secure, highly available backend systems.\nDrive system design reviews and architectural governance for large-scale distributed systems.\nEnsure reliability, performance, scalability, and observability of platform services.\nEstablish engineering best practices around coding standards, CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and release management.\nMobile Engineering Expertise:\nLeverage deep Android and/or iOS development experience to influence mobile architecture and platform decisions.\nCollaborate with mobile engineering teams to improve app performance, stability, user experience, and development efficiency.\nGuide teams on mobile-backend integrations, API design, and platform scalability.\nStakeholder Management:\nPartner closely with Product, Design, Data, Infrastructure, Security, and Business teams.\nTranslate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.\nCommunicate technical strategy and execution updates to senior leadership.\nDelivery and Execution:\nDrive end-to-end delivery of critical initiatives with predictable execution.\nManage engineering metrics, delivery timelines, quality benchmarks, and operational KPIs.\nEnsure high engineering velocity while maintaining platform reliability and technical quality.\nRequirements:\n13-17 years of overall software engineering experience.\nCareer should have started with hands-on Android and/or iOS application development.\nMinimum 8-10 years of strong mobile engineering experience.\nLast 4-5 years leading backend engineering teams and platform development.\nExperience managing engineering managers, technical leads, and senior engineers.\nTechnical Skills:\nStrong expertise in Android (Kotlin/Java) or iOS (Swift/Objective-C) development.\nDeep understanding of backend technologies such as Java, Kotlin, Go, Node.js, Python, or similar modern backend stacks.\nStrong experience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, event-driven systems, and cloud-native applications.\nExperience with AWS, GCP, or Azure environments.\nKnowledge of databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and Elasticsearch and messaging systems such as Kafka.\nExpertise in API architecture, scalability, performance optimisation, and security best practices.\nStrong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, observability, monitoring, and SRE principles.\nLeadership Competencies:\nProven track record of scaling engineering organisations.\nStrong architectural thinking and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to influence senior stakeholders and drive technical decisions.\nExcellent communication and people leadership capabilities.\nExperience working in high-growth consumer internet, e-commerce, fintech, food-tech, mobility, or large-scale digital platforms preferred.\nPreferred Background:\nExperience building products serving millions of users and handling high transaction volumes.\nPrior experience in organisations such as consumer internet, e-commerce, fintech, mobility, gaming, food delivery, or digital-first platforms.\nExposure to both mobile-first product development and backend platform engineering.\nExperience managing teams of 20+ engineers across multiple
