This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing strategic financial planning with hands-on operational leadership.\nGuided by the Nation's sacred principle of ʔiisaak, meaning deep respect for all living beings and the interconnectedness of community, lands, and governance, the Finance Manager helps ensure financial systems and services support long-term sustainability, accountability, and community prosperity.\nYou will join a dynamic and collaborative environment where initiative, adaptability, cultural awareness, and relationship-building are highly valued.\nResponsibilities:\nLead, mentor, and support the finance team while overseeing day-to-day financial operations.\n\nCoordinate budgeting activities and participate in the development of the Nation's annual organizational budget.\n\nPrepare and oversee accurate financial reporting, financial statements, and budget monitoring processes.\n\nReview financial performance and provide analysis to support informed decision-making.\n\nSupport month-end accounting activities, budget reviews, and transactional processes.\n\nContribute to financial planning and support the implementation of organizational programs and initiatives.\n\nCollaborate with the Payroll Manager to support employee benefits administration and reporting.\n\nDevelop department work plans and monitor performance objectives for supervised positions.\n\nSupport policy review, operational analysis, and management-level decision-making processes.\n\nPrepare contracts, reports, correspondence, and other business documentation.\n\nAssist with the implementation and maintenance of communications, information technology, and human resources structures.\n\nConduct research, analysis, and special projects as required.\n\nWhat You bring:\nA post-secondary degree or diploma in Finance, Administration, Accounting, or a related field.\n\nInterest in pursuing a CPA designation (preferred).\n\nA minimum of two years of management experience within a First Nations organization.\n\nDemonstrated experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and financial administration.\n\nStrong knowledge of financial management principles and business operations.\n\nAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adagio, and financial information systems.\n\nA valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.\n\nCompensation and Benefits\nIn addition to a competitive salary, TFN offers:\nEnrollment in the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation Pension Plan.\n\nComprehensive health and dental benefits.\n\nRelocation assistance for eligible candidates.\n\nHousing support, including access to staff accommodation or housing subsidy options,\n\nOpportunities for professional growth and development.\n\nA collaborative, community-focused work environment.\n\nAn Extraordinary Place to Live\nLocated on the breathtaking west coast of Vancouver Island, Tofino offers an exceptional quality of life.
