To assist in sales of retail merchandise, including ski equipment, clothing and accessories.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nProvide superior customer service (internal and external) at all times. Follow The Resort’s etiquette guidelines.\nCount out cash register drawer, including setting up the bank and completing the daily count sheet.\nGreet and assist customers with purchases, utilizing the DTR Retail Sales and Service Standards.\nUnderstand and control the steps of a sale to increase sales per hour, items per transaction, and average sale.\nBecome familiar with the sport of skiing and the DTR services.\nUnderstand features and benefits, sizing and fit of ski wear.\nBecome familiar with the DTR retail inventory in all locations.\nAssist in arranging merchandise according to store design.\nOpen and close store ensuring proper checklist procedures are followed.\nPreserve the look and feel of the sales floor (i.e., cleanliness, organization and merchandising).\nAssist with periodic inventories and in maintenance of proper inventory levels.\nComplete daily and weekly reports as assigned.\nReceive and display new merchandise correctly by doing paperwork, displays and back stocking.\nAssist with various store operations as needed.\nKeep abreast of new products and equipment in the industry.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nOther Duties:\nGreet guests upon arrival at the X-Country Center.\nAssists guests with information on the X-C Program.\nAssist guests with purchasing trail tickets and provide area maps\nHandle cash/credit card transactions with the register.\nAssist guests with purchasing merchandise.\nRetail sales-hard and soft goods. Rental and demo equipment disbursement.\nMaintenance of all rental equipment. Basic ski shop repairs and binding mounting.\nTeach Nordic lessons.\nEmbrace and promote all facets of the Devil’s Thumb Ranch Guiding Principles: vision, mission, service guidelines, and values.\nExhibit job and product knowledge to accurately support and promote all Devils Thumb Ranch departments, amenities and programming ventures.\nBe able to work a flexible schedule, work well under pressure.\nPossess the necessary social skills to work with a broad based constituency and provide excellent customer service to all internal and external guests.\nDemonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.\nKeep information confidential as directed in the confidentiality agreement and furthermore support and comply with all Devil’s Thumb Ranch policies, procedures, and standards.\nBe an ambassador of Devil’s Thumb Ranch inside and outside of work.\nRequirements\nEducation/Experience:\nQUALIFICATIONS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.\nMATHEMATICAL SKILLS\nAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.\nREASONING ABILITY\nAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
