We work flexibly, but regular in-person collaboration is important. We care about simplicity, ownership, customer impact, and using modern tools - including AI - to work smarter.\nAbout the role\nYou will work across the full product and technical stack, from backend services and APIs to web UI, database logic, integrations, and product workflows.\nThis role is for someone who thinks beyond tickets. You should be comfortable asking why something matters, clarifying the customer problem, suggesting better solutions, and taking responsibility for the result.\nYou will work closely with the business side and other team members to decide what to build, how to build it, and how to make the product better for customers.\nWhat you will do\n Own customer-facing features from idea to shipped product \n Work across C#/.NET backend, APIs, database logic, and web UI \n Improve and modernize a mature production application incrementally \n Help simplify complex workflows around software licensing, subscriptions, and customer operations \n Use AI tools to speed up development, code understanding, refactoring, testing, and documentation \n Make pragmatic technical decisions that balance speed, quality, and maintainability \n Collaborate closely with product, business, and customer needs \n Improve developer experience, code quality, and long-term system health \nWho you are\nYou are an experienced software engineer who enjoys product ownership. You care about the customer problem, not only the implementation task.\nYou are comfortable working in a mature codebase. You do not need everything to be greenfield. You know how to improve systems gradually, reduce complexity, and make good trade-offs.\nYou use AI tools naturally in your engineering workflow - for codebase exploration, debugging, refactoring, tests, documentation, and faster iteration - while still applying your own judgment on architecture, quality, security, and maintainability.\nYou communicate clearly, take ownership, and like working in a small team where your decisions have visible impact.\nWe think you will be successful in this role if you have\n 7+ years of professional software engineering experience \n Strong production experience with C# and .NET \n Hands-on experience with ASP.NET MVC, Razor, Web API, or similar server-rendered web applications \n Experience building and maintaining customer-facing production systems \n Comfort working across backend, frontend, APIs, data, and business logic \n Experience owning work end to end: clarifying requirements, proposing solutions, shipping safely, and following through on outcomes \n Strong engineering judgment: you know how to balance speed, simplicity, quality, and long-term maintainability \n A product mindset: you care about solving customer problems, not just closing tickets \n Regular use of AI tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar in your engineering workflow \n Strong communication skills in English \n Ability to work from Stockholm regularly \nNice to have\n Experience modernizing legacy or mature .NET applications \n Experience with SaaS, subscriptions, licensing, billing, or B2B platforms \n Experience with integrations, authentication, APIs, or customer/partner portals \n Experience working in small teams or founder-led companies \n Experience improving developer workflows, test coverage, or deployment processes \n Swedish language skills are a plus, but not required \nThis role is a strong fit if you\n Like owning product problems end to end \n Enjoy working close to customers and business needs \n Are comfortable improving a mature production system step by step \n Prefer pragmatic engineering over technical purity \n Use AI tools actively and thoughtfully in your daily work \n Want a role where seniority means ownership, judgment, and impact \nThis role is probably not the right fit if you\n Are looking for a junior or early-career role \n Want a fully remote international contractor position \n Prefer only greenfield development \n Mainly want clearly defined tickets handed to you \n Have not worked deeply with production .NET applications \n Are not able to work from Stockholm regularly \nLocation\nThis is a Stockholm-based hybrid role.\nWe work flexibly, but regular in-person collaboration is important for this role.
