AI Engineer - GenAI / AI Assistant

We are looking for a very strong Senior AI Engineer to join an elite, fully remote team of 6 supporting the private equity division of a top-tier global consulting and advisory firm. You'll work within a new department tied to the firm's private equity line of business. The team is currently building the "AI Assistant" layer on top of RMS, an already-operational system holding a large volume of structured and unstructured data from the Credit team covering assets, operations, clients, and initiatives - enabling fast analysis, lookups, and data processing on top of that data.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience with Python and FastAPI

• Hands-on experience with LangGraph and LangChain, building RAG pipelines, tool calling, and MCP integration

• Experience with AWS and Docker

• Comfortable working daily with AI coding tools like Claude Code or Cursor

• Very strong organizational skills, able to manage scope and priorities with minimal oversight

• Very strong communication and presentation skills in English; able to communicate quickly, clearly, and correctly with a US-based client (does not need to be native or formally C1)

Nice to Have

• Background working with structured and unstructured financial/credit data

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the ongoing development of an operational AI system (RMS) used by the Credit team, adding an "AI Assistant" layer for fast analysis, lookups, and data processing

• Build and improve RAG pipelines, tool-calling flows, and MCP integrations using LangGraph/LangChain

• Collaborate closely with a small, high-caliber team of 6-8 engineers and the team manager

• Communicate directly with the client (primarily US-based) when needed, in a clear, consulting-appropriate manner

• Work independently with minimal supervision while staying tightly aligned with team priorities and client expectations
