The APM role is intended for those interested in Project Management but with no or limited project management experience. The APM will initially be responsible for assisting the Project Manager (PM) in supporting the client, providing feedback to the PM in order to quickly solve problems; providing quality engineering documents that meet the client’s desires and budget. With progressive experience, the APM will take on more leadership and responsibilities while managing projects. In short, the APM assists the PM in making them a “Client for Life”. Our commitment to excellence stems from our personal integrity and from other defining attributes, which we call “Dewberry at Work,” that have inspired our employees to be successful for more than a half-century.\nResponsibilities\nAlways copy the PM on all communication (Emails, tele conv, etc) with the client, architect and outside consultants.\nAssist in conducting fieldwork and at times take the lead in this effort.\nAttend design meetings with the client and issue minutes when the Project Manager cannot attend or accompany the PM to meetings.\nOrganize and direct frequent in-house meetings under the direction of the PM.\nProvide input to the PM in regards to scheduling personnel. Work with the PM in the preparation of detailed personnel loading by task interfaced with the detailed schedule.\nAssist the PM in the preparation of storyboards and detailed project timelines.\nAssist the PM in the organization and maintenance of the design binder.\nAssist the PM in the coordination of all the disciplines involved, including outside consultants.\nAssist the PM in the supervision and coordination of the submission of documents to appropriate reviewing authorities.\nAssist the PM in the coordination of the review responses and help ensure they are reflected in the drawings/specifications.\nUnder the direction of the PM, arrange for in-house quality review primarily for the PM to ensure that all of the clients' needs and requests have been accommodated. Assist the PM to ensure and coordinate among all of the disciplines involved, including outside consultants.\nArrange/attend pre-bid conferences when the Project Manager cannot attend or accompany the PM. If required, issue the minutes, addenda, under the direction/supervision of the PM.\nAssist the PM at bid openings and help to prepare / issue certified bid tabulation. \nRequired Skills & Required Experience\n Accomplished (5+ years of experience) Construction Professional (Engineer or Contractor)\nEIT or PE\nKnowledgeable of construction process, familiar with AIA and VA state construction contracts\nSelf-motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills\nWell organized, takes good notes. \nGood conceptual understanding of plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and structural systems with general knowledge of system operation, space requirements, cost.\nThe projected range for this position is $95,000.00 - $122,000.00 annually.
