Dewberry is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in our Leesburg, VA office.

Responsibilities
Individual will work on all phases of civil/municipal engineering including grading design, roadway design, storm water management systems design, water and sanitary sewer design, and erosion and sediment control design. Individual may also conduct permitting and code research, write specifications, and preprare and submit permit applications.
Required Skills & Required Experience
- Currently pursuing a bachelors or masters degree in Civil Engineering is required
- Previous internship experience preferred
- Knowledge of Site/Civil engineering practices including grading design, roadway design, storm water management systems design, water and sanitary sewer design, and erosion and sediment control design
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency using CADD and Microsoft Office software
- Desire to work in a team environment

Salary Range
$18.75/hour - $29.75/hour. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly
Program Information
Summer Intern Program
During the summer intern program, interns gain hands-on project experience, develop technical skills, and put their classroom knowledge into action. Our interns are assigned meaningful work and are given the opportunity to work on projects similar to what they would be engaging with as a full-time employee.
Our interns get the opportunity to participate in a series of workshops and events, including:
- Networking opportunities to meet other interns, staff, and senior leaders across the business.
- Learning about our services, projects, and clients.
- Professional development workshops, including a career planning workshop and a DiSC assessment to learn more about themselves and how to work effectively with others.
- Summer-long group project where interns work alongside firm leaders to address issues that will impact our future strategy.
