Job Description
Dewberry is currently seeking a motivated Entry Level Transportation Planner in our Fairfax, VA office. This position is an excellent career opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented individual and includes flexible work hours and the ability for part-time telework. Projects will range from local community-focused safety and multimodal projects to large freeway improvement projects. Primary responsibilities will be performing transportation planning, safety, and operational studies, including corridor, bicycle, pedestrian, freeway projects, and assisting with short- and long-term planning efforts. Work will also include preparing technical reports and presentations to coordinate with state and local transportation agencies and public outreach efforts. Applicants must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in groups.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include planning and analysis for various traffic related tasks as noted above, working in a team environment, and collaborating with roadway, structures, hydraulics, and environmental groups within our Transportation business unit. The Candidate may also prepare design and cost estimates, meet with clients, and assist in proposal development.
Required Skills & Required Experience
- BS in Urban Planning or related
- 0-3 years’ experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience using Synchro and GIS
- Ability to work in a team environment

The projected range for this position is $77,000 - $80,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
