This senior professional will perform a variety of environmental tasks in support of environmental remediation projects, including developing long-range remedial solutions and strategies to reduce environmental risk. Projects are primarily located in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania; the position includes support to other Dewberry offices in the U.S. Responsibilities include: the site/remedial investigation, remedial project design, and implementation of remedial actions pursuant to regulatory agency and/or company direction.\nThe Senior Professional must be flexible, client focused and capable of working independently, while supporting a team that includes engineers, scientists, and field personnel. The work required is diverse and ranges from coordination of field inspection and soil/groundwater sampling to technical work that requires strong communication skills and knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, and Adobe Acrobat. Current OSHA 40-hour certification and/or other applicable certification preferred. Certain positions are also eligible to receive overtime pay, whereas all non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime (subject to approval).\nIn addition, a host of discounted purchase programs are available to all employees.\nResponsibilities\nWork with staff and management team to develop strategic direction for site investigation/remediation and implementation of environmental-related projects and/or litigation support.\nNegotiations with regulatory agencies and management of compliance with applicable orders, agency directives, and permits.\nAssigns tasks to engineers, scientists, technicians, or administrative staff. \nInteracts with the client in the field, at meetings, and on conference calls.\nPlans and coordinates all aspects of work.\nPrepares and manages scope, budgets, and schedules for assignments.\nLeads and assists with proposals.\nManages and meets budgets. \nMeets project, client, and regulatory deadlines.\nOther duties as required.\nRequired Skills & Required Experience\nBS in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related degree. \nMinimum 15 years of experience.\nPE license is required\nNew Jersey Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) a plus\nOSHA 40-hour certification with a current 8-hour annual refresher course certification\nThe ideal candidate must possess strong hydrogeological technical skills alongside a proven track record of securing new clients and leading successful business development initiatives\nConduct advanced evaluations of subsurface soil and rock strata to characterize aquifer properties and predict pollutant movement or groundwater flow\nCapacity to evaluate complex data\nWorking knowledge of NJDEP, NYSDEC, NYCDEP and/or PADEP requirements a plus.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nCommunicates effectively with clients, coworkers, subconsultants, and county/agency review staff.\nComposes technical reports, memoranda, and other written communication.\nHandles multiple concurrent projects.\nResponsible for field sampling and contractor oversight at locations in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.\nProficiency with basic MS Office software\nDriving is a requirement of the position.
