This is an entry-level position with great growth potential for individuals who enjoy being outside on road and bridge construction projects. Our commitment to excellence stems from our personal integrity and from other defining attributes, which we call “Dewberry at Work,” that have inspired our employees to be successful for more than a half-century.\nResponsibilities\nPlan, coordinate, inspect, and oversee project inspection activities of roadway, structure, and bridge projects\nMonitor contractors and schedules to ensure quality control and contract compliance of moderate to complex construction projects.\nApply knowledge and experience toward the inspection of roadways and bridges using PennDOT standards, specifications, and procedures.\nApply engineering principles in the inspection and documentation of construction activities.\nRecommend changes to construction plans to meet field conditions or provide cost savings.\nMaintains and reviews comprehensive project records including daily diaries, materials notebooks, as-built plans, pay quantity records, progress schedules, work orders, and monthly estimates.\nComplete testing of materials using PennDOT testing procedures\nCommunicate with various stakeholders, including Localities and PennDOT\nAssist with the development of change orders.\nAdvises contractors of violations and reviews and recommends approval of corrective measures\nIdentifies necessary changes to construction plans to meet field conditions\nSuccessful candidates will be authorized to obtain all PennDOT inspection and materials testing certifications. Costs for obtaining these certifications will be reimbursed to the employee. \n\nRequired Skills & Required Experience\nHigh school graduate or GED equivalent is required. \nBasic computer skills to use an electronic tablet and computer for reviewing construction. drawings/specifications and completing project documentation are required.\nDriving is a requirement of the position. A clean driving record is required.\nPrevious construction experience preferred.\nMust be able and willing to work day and night shifts and extended working hours as needed.\nAbility to repetitively stoop, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 25 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes, in addition to ability to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces.\nPhysically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrains.\nStrong written and oral communication skills.\nDon’t meet every single requirement?
