Travelling across North America, you will assemble and build robots on site, run initial tests to confirm they are fully operational, survey the warehouse environment, and verify that the power and connectivity requirements are in place, setting the deployment team up for a smooth, predictable installation.\nThis is a hands-on, travel-heavy role and the foundation of a clear career path: over time you will be trained on the full deployment process and grow into a Deployment Engineer, helping us build a strong, continuous pipeline within the team.\nThe role involves regular travel to warehouse sites around North America, typically arriving 2-3 weeks ahead of the Deployment Engineer’s installation visit. It is crucial that you are able to travel for extended periods, often 1-3 weeks at a time.\nKey Responsibilities\nAssemble and build robots on customer sites ahead of deployment, typically 2-3 weeks before the Deployment Engineer arrives to carry out the implementation.\nPerform initial testing and commissioning of each robot, confirming it is fully functional before handover to the deployment team.\nConduct detailed warehouse surveys and feed accurate site information back to the deployment team to inform installation planning.\nCarry out detailed Wi-Fi and mobile/cellular connectivity surveys across the site, documenting coverage and flagging any gaps or risks.\nConfirm with the customer that the required power supply and infrastructure are in place ahead of deployment.\nPrepare, pack, and coordinate the return shipment of tools and equipment to our Nashville facility.\nDevelop and maintain clear documentation of build steps, test results, site conditions, and survey findings for both customers and internal stakeholders.\nMaintain effective communication with customers and the deployment team throughout the site-readiness phase.\nProgressively build deployment expertise through structured on-the-job training, working towards a Deployment Engineer role.\nQualifications and Requirements\nHands-on experience assembling, building, or maintaining hardware or mechanical systems in operational environments, including assembly, disassembly, and on-site debugging.\nComprehensive technical understanding of computer systems; prior experience with autonomous hardware systems or computer vision applications is preferred.\nStrong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and reliably on customer premises.\nWillingness and ability to travel extensively across North America for extended periods, often 1-3 weeks at a time.\nValid driving license required.\nWhat we need from you\nA proactive, problem-solving mindset, with the demonstrated ability to address technical challenges effectively on customer premises.\nStrong attention to detail and reliability, your work sets the foundation for a successful deployment.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences.\nA genuine appetite to learn and grow into a Deployment Engineer over time.\nBenefits\nStarting from the interview process and continuing into your career with us, you will be working by our four Operating Principles:\nPerformance: High standards, outstanding results\nImpact: Big challenges, bigger results\nCommitment: All in, every time\nOne team: One mission, shared success\nJoining our team and company isn’t just about expertise; it’s about embracing uncertainty with ambition.
