We are located in the University of Northern British Columbia in Prince George, BC. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, baking, and presenting a variety of fresh breads, pastries, desserts, and baked goods while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.\nYour work will include:\nPreparing and baking goods from scratch\nPrepare and bake breads, buns, pastries, cookies, cakes, and other baked products according to recipes and production schedules.\nMeasure and mix ingredients accurately to ensure product consistency.\nOperate commercial baking equipment safely and efficiently.\nMonitor proofing, baking times, and temperatures to ensure quality standards are met.\nDecorate and finish baked goods as required.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment.\nFollow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.\nMonitor inventory levels and assist with ordering baking ingredients and supplies.\nMinimize waste and contribute to cost-control initiatives.\nCollaborate with team members to meet production and customer service goals\nRestocking pastry shelves and maintaining a sufficient and fresh supply of baked goods\nCreating and following menus to ensure quality of baked goods and desserts\nEnsuring consistent quality standard in over-all food preparation as per clients’ requirements including consideration to special dietary constraints\nComplying with food hygiene regulations in accordance with Food Safety Act\nCleaning, washing, and sanitizing equipment and over-all work areas\nWHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?\nPrevious baking experience in a bakery, food service, hotel, restaurant, or institutional setting preferred.\nKnowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.\nAbility to follow recipes and production schedules accurately.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nAbility to stand for extended periods.\nFood Safe Certification is considered an asset.\nSuperior communication skills in both verbal and written English \n Skills & Attributes\n\nPassion for baking and food quality\nStrong organizational and time-management skills\nReliable and punctual\nPositive attitude and strong work ethic\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment\n Dexterra Group is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
