This role requires electrical, carpentry, and plumbing knowledge, practical experience in appliance maintenance, and the ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment. The Maintenance Technician ensures minimal downtime and uninterrupted camp operations through proactive maintenance, timely repairs, and emergency response.\nYour work will include:\nPerform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on kitchen appliances (ovens, fridges, dishwashers, deep fryers, etc.) and electrical systems across camp facilities.\n\nPerform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on the camp's plumbing and lift station systems.\n\nConduct regular inspections of all electrical appliances and systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.\n\nWork independently with limited supervision, managing time and priorities efficiently.\n\nCollaborate with other maintenance staff and camp management to address equipment and infrastructure concerns promptly.\n\nDemonstrate strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on minimizing operational downtime.\n\nSupport uninterrupted camp operations by ensuring all equipment, appliances, and systems are functional and reliable.\n\nContribute to a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained camp environment for all personnel.\n\nMaintain professionalism and clear communication when reporting issues and working with the camp team.\n\nManage inventory of spare parts and tools necessary for repairs, ordering supplies as required to maintain adequate stock levels.\n\nSupport cost-effective operations through proactive preventive maintenance that extends equipment life and reduces emergency repairs.\n\nUse materials and resources efficiently to minimize waste and unnecessary costs.\n\nQuickly diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues in appliances and kitchen equipment.\n\nAssist with the installation and commissioning of new kitchen appliances, plumbing, and electrical systems as needed.\n\nMaintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections in compliance with company policies and safety regulations.\n\nRespond promptly to emergency maintenance calls related to electrical failures or appliance breakdowns.\n\nFollow all health and safety standards, including procedures specific to remote work environments.\n\nWHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?\nBe part of an industry that's more important than ever!\nCareer advancement opportunities.\nWhereas other companies are downsizing, we are growing!\nBe #1 on day 1 by joining an industry leader.\nFollow Dexterra on LinkedIn and Facebook.\n WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?\nHigh school diploma or equivalent. Journeyman Plumber or Electrician certification is an asset. First Aid with CPR certification is an asset.\n\nExperience working in remote or fly-in/fly-out camps in Canada, particularly in industrial or commercial settings.\n\nHands-on experience with kitchen appliances, including refrigeration units, ovens, fryers, dishwashers, and other commercial kitchen equipment.\n\nExperience with preventative maintenance programs and record-keeping systems.\n\nStrong knowledge of electrical, circuits, and troubleshooting techniques.\n\nStrong knowledge of plumbing systems and camp lift stations.\n\nProficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify faults in appliances and electrical systems.\n\nValid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.\n\nSafety-conscious and familiar with health and safety standards in remote environment.\n\nStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.\n\nFlexibility and adaptability to work in challenging environments with varying weather and remote conditions.\n\nExcellent communication skills.\n\nMust pass drug, alcohol, and fitness testing.\n\nPhysically capable of:\n\nLifting up to 50 lbs.\n\nWorking in confined spaces.\n\nWorking outdoors in extreme weather conditions.\n\nPerforming manual repair and maintenance tasks.\n\n Dexterra Group is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
