That's something we're truly proud of: Work That Matters, People Who Care.\nWe are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor - Event Facilities Services to lead frontline cleaning teams supporting a busy convention centre and/or arena environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced setting and takes pride in delivering exceptional service during high-profile events and large-scale public gatherings.\n As the Operations Supervisor, you will provide direct leadership and supervision to frontline cleaning teams across event preparation, live events, venue turnovers, and post-event recovery.\nYou will play a key role in ensuring cleaning services are delivered safely, efficiently, and consistently while maintaining high standards across guest-facing and operational areas. You will work closely with the Event Services Coordinator, Site Director, and venue operations teams to ensure the facility remains clean, safe, and event-ready.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead and supervise cleaning teams across assigned areas and facilities.\nCoordinate and direct staff activities throughout event preparation, live events, turnovers, and post-event recovery.\nConduct shift start-up briefings, assign daily tasks, and complete end-of-shift handovers.\nEnsure daily, periodic, and event-specific cleaning assignments are completed on time and to established standards.\nExecute staffing deployment plans established by management and event coordination teams.\nMonitor high-traffic areas during live events, including washrooms, concourses, lobbies, entrances, seating areas, and back-of-house spaces.\nCoordinate spill response, hazard mitigation, emergency cleaning activities, and service calls.\nEnsure washrooms, waste stations, public areas, and guest spaces remain clean and presentable throughout events.\nSupport rapid event turnovers, venue conversions, floor resets, and post-event recovery.\nTrain, coach, and mentor frontline employees and temporary event staff.\nSupport onboarding and provide task-specific training to ensure employees understand cleaning and safety expectations.\nMonitor attendance, productivity, conduct, and completion of assigned work.\nConduct routine inspections using established checklists and audit tools.\nIdentify deficiencies, assign corrective actions, and verify completion.\nEnsure public, operational, and support areas meet required event-ready standards.\nEnsure the proper use, cleaning, storage, and care of equipment, carts, tools, and supplies.\nMonitor chemical and consumable inventory and coordinate replenishment as required.\nEnsure cleaning products are properly labelled, stored, and handled in accordance with WHMIS requirements.\nOversee waste collection, sorting, recycling, composting, and waste handling procedures.\nPromote waste diversion and sustainable cleaning practices.\nComplete shift reports, inspections, attendance records, incident documentation, and operational reports.\nParticipate in event briefings, operations meetings, and post-event debriefs.\nAssist with scheduling adjustments and real-time workforce redeployment.\nEnforce company, client, venue, and health and safety requirements.\nIdentify and correct unsafe conditions and report incidents, hazards, and near misses.\nSupport emergency response procedures and maintain safe working conditions during event transitions.\n What You Bring\nHigh school diploma required; post-secondary education in Facilities Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field is an asset.\n3-5 years of supervisory experience in facilities management, janitorial operations, commercial cleaning, hospitality, public assembly, or a related environment.\nExperience leading teams in fast-paced, high-volume, guest-facing environments.\nKnowledge of commercial cleaning practices, floor care, cleaning equipment, chemicals, waste management, and event support services.\nStrong leadership and people-management skills with the ability to motivate and coach a diverse workforce.\nExcellent communication, organization, and decision-making skills.\nStrong customer service mindset and attention to detail.\nAbility to respond quickly and effectively to changing priorities and operational issues.\nWorking knowledge of WHMIS, workplace health and safety requirements, and safe work practices.\nAbility to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, overnight periods, holidays, and event-driven schedules.\nPreferred Experience\nExperience in any of the following environments is considered an asset:\nConvention centres\nSports and entertainment venues\nArenas and stadiums\nLarge public facilities\nAirports\nUniversities and colleges\nHealthcare facilities\nHotels and hospitality operations\nLarge-scale commercial cleaning operations\n WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?\nEmployee Referral Program\nFully covered supplemental medical and dental care benefits.\nWhile other companies are downsizing, we are growing!\nBe number one from day one by joining an industry leader.\nDexterra Group is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
