innovate, do social good, and move services forward in a safe manner.\nThis permanent full-time position is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, with a in-office work arrangement available.\nReporting to the Sr. Manager, HSE, the HSE Advisor will mainly support Dexterra's Transit Operations portfolio and will be responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and technical expertise to operational teams in the implementation and continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental programs.\nThe successful candidate will partner closely with operational leadership, employees, union representatives, Joint Health and Safety Committees, clients, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance, drive positive safety outcomes, and foster a strong safety culture across multiple transit and infrastructure locations.\nYOUR WORK WILL INCLUDE:\nMaintaining positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders through effective communication and collaboration.\nIdentifying HSEQ risks, hazards, problems, and issues as early as possible and ensuring appropriate mitigating actions are implemented.\nProviding guidance and support to operational leadership on legislative requirements, company standards, policies, and industry best practices.\nEffectively communicating HSEQ expectations and initiatives to all stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.\nProviding training resources, coaching, leadership, organization, and control to meet the company's HSEQ goals and objectives.\nManaging and measuring HSEQ program performance to achieve targeted business outcomes and continuous improvement objectives.\nPreparing and presenting monthly HSE statistics, trends, and performance reports for leadership review.\nManaging the administration and effectiveness of the health and safety program, including maintaining documentation, establishing performance measures, and reporting on program results.\nConducting workplace inspections, audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews.\nLeading or supporting incident investigations, root cause analyses, corrective action development, and follow-up activities.\nMonitoring compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations, client requirements, and Dexterra policies and procedures.\nCoordinating with Disability Management and operational teams on workplace injury and illness claims.\nEnsuring all levels of management are informed of activities related to regulatory compliance, health and safety performance, and emerging risks.\nParticipating in client meetings, safety committees, audits, and operational reviews as required.\nWorking collaboratively within unionized environments to address health and safety concerns and support positive labour-management relations.\n WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?\nUniversity Degree or College Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Industrial Relations, Human Resources, or a related field.\nMinimum five (5) years of progressive experience in occupational health and safety.\nAn equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.\nValid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Metro Vancouver and other locations within British Columbia as required.\nStrong working knowledge of WorkSafeBC legislation, occupational health and safety regulations, and industry best practices.\nDemonstrated experience conducting incident investigations, workplace inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and corrective action management.\nStrong analytical, organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.\nAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.\nDemonstrated ability to apply risk assessment and hazard identification methodologies within operational environments.\nAbility to influence and coach leaders, supervisors, and frontline employees on health and safety matters.\nREQUIRED EXPERIENCE\nExperience working within unionized environments is mandatory.\n Experience working directly with union representatives and Joint Health and Safety Committees (JHSCs) is mandatory.\nExperience supporting multi-site operations and geographically dispersed workforces.\nExperience interpreting and applying occupational health and safety legislation and company management systems.\nExperience leading workplace investigations and supporting return-to-work and disability management processes.\nASSETS\n Experience supporting transit, rail, transportation, public infrastructure, or other safety-sensitive operations is a strong asset.\nExperience working within Facilities Management (FM) or similar service delivery environments.\nBilingualism in English/French or English/Spanish.\nCanadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation.\nCanadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) designation.\nCOR Auditor certification.\nExperience
