are looking for a Lead Analytics Engineer to take technical ownership of our BI and analytics capability, with particular responsibility for reliable semantic models, consistent business metrics and high-quality Power BI solutions.\nThis is a senior, hands-on role combining strong BI expertise with the ability to structure data around meaningful commercial questions.\nLocation: Clapham Junction\nSalary: £80,000-£90,000 DOE\nKey responsibilities:\nLead the technical design of Dexters’ BI and analytics solutions.\n\nOwn the definition and implementation of core business metrics, ensuring they are consistent, traceable and reconciled across models and reports.\n\nDesign scalable dimensional and semantic models for reliable, consistent reporting.\n\nEstablish validation and reconciliation controls to ensure reporting outputs are complete and accurate.\n\nOwn Power BI standards across development, deployment, performance and governance.\n\nBuild complex analytical solutions using DAX, SQL and appropriate transformation tools.\n\nTranslate complex business requirements into well-structured analytical solutions.\n\nImprove the performance and maintainability of existing Power BI datasets and reports.\n\nDesign and maintain appropriate row-level security and access models.\n\nWork with Data Engineers to ensure analytical requirements are reflected correctly in the underlying data platform.\n\nReduce duplicated business logic through reusable metrics and shared models.\n\nProvide technical review and mentoring for colleagues developing BI solutions.\n\nWork directly with senior stakeholders to understand business questions and challenge requirements where appropriate.\n\nCommunicate assumptions, risks and delivery timescales clearly.\n\nWhat we are looking for:\nDeep practical experience with Power BI in a complex business environment.\n\nAdvanced DAX and strong SQL skills.\n\nExcellent understanding of dimensional modelling, star schemas and semantic model design.\n\nExperience creating shared or enterprise analytical models rather than isolated dashboards.\n\nStrong understanding of Power BI performance, RLS and governance.\n\nStrong approach to data validation, reconciliation and quality assurance.\n\nAbility to turn ambiguous business questions into robust analytical solutions.\n\nStrong commercial judgement and attention to detail.\n\nExcellent communication skills and confidence working directly with senior stakeholders.\n\nA track record of raising standards and developing the capability of others.\n\nExperience with Snowflake and dbt would be highly
