experienced Lead Data Engineer to raise technical standards across our Data team and strengthen the reliability, scalability and quality of our data platform.\nThis is a senior, hands-on role combining solution delivery with technical leadership across architecture, engineering practices and data quality.\nLocation: Clapham Junction\nSalary: £85,000-£95,000 DOE\n\nKey responsibilities:\nProvide hands-on technical leadership across Data Engineering.\n\nOwn engineering standards across architecture, code quality, testing, CI/CD, observability and documentation.\n\nDesign, build and optimise scalable data pipelines, transformations and data models using Snowflake, dbt and associated integration technologies.\n\nAct as the senior technical authority for data engineering design decisions.\n\nTake ownership of complex data engineering problems through to resolution.\n\nImprove automated data quality, reconciliation and platform observability.\n\nReduce key-person dependencies through better engineering patterns, automation, documentation and knowledge sharing.\n\nMentor Data Engineers and develop technical capability across the team.\n\nWork with Data Delivery and senior stakeholders to translate requirements into well-designed technical solutions.\n\nProvide realistic estimates, identify risks early and communicate clearly on delivery.\n\nDrive continuous improvement in engineering practices and team effectiveness.\n\nWhat we are looking for:\nSignificant experience designing and delivering production data platforms.\n\nExpert SQL skills and strong practical experience with Python.\n\nStrong experience with Snowflake and dbt or comparable modern data technologies.\n\nStrong understanding of ETL/ELT, data integration and dimensional modelling.\n\nDemonstrable experience with automated testing, CI/CD and data quality controls.\n\nExperience reviewing technical designs and improving the work of other engineers.\n\nA track record of taking ownership and delivering at pace without compromising quality.\n\nClear communication and the confidence to challenge constructively.\n\nExperience leading and mentoring engineers while remaining technically hands-on.\n\nExperience with Azure Data Factory, Airbyte and Power BI would be
