If you thrive on solving complex challenges, driving continuous improvement, and turning technical expertise into real-world results, this is your opportunity to grow your career while shaping the future of manufacturing.\nDextran Products is seeking a Process Development Engineer to lead and execute engineering projects in support of Dextran Products’ chemical manufacturing process and process development initiatives. These projects include development/validation of new products and processes, increasing capacity of current products, improving safety, compliance, cost of manufacturing and other areas of continuous improvement.\nMajor Roles and Responsibilities:\nProcess Engineering & Design\nDesigns chemical manufacturing processes establishing and documenting process path and equipment selection to ensure the effectiveness of the process.\nImplements complex chemical manufacturing processing to meet the compliance requirements for associated products.\nImplements Quality requirements according to IPEC Guidelines.\nProcess Optimization\nEvaluates manufacturing processes, development/manufacturing batch records and operational procedures\nMakes recommendations to leadership to improve increase throughput, reduce costs and improve safety.\nEquipment Selection & Installation\nProvides input into the design and selection of process equipment\nTroubleshoots process equipment and utilities as required.\nDocumentation\nEnsures executed development plans are documented, reviewed and approved by appropriate personnel.\nDocuments work performed in batch records, validation protocols, logbooks, laboratory notebooks, etc.\nCreates process flow diagrams, risk assessments, operating procedures.\nChange Management\nWorks closely with process validation to ensure that changes to process and equipment are properly handled within Dextran Products and change management procedures.\nProcess Training\nTrains manufacturing personnel in how to best operate manufacturing equipment to ensure manufactured products meet required specifications.\nLeadership\nGuides manufacturing operators on the design and execution of process development projects and improvements.\nComplete development goals as established with the Managing Director.\nAssist in the Plant when it is needed. Maintain constant communication with manufacturing and quality personnel.\nProject Management\nExecutes process and product development projects as assigned by effectively planning and monitoring\nActs to design and develop processes and resolve issues that arise in a timely manner.\nCommunicates the status of these projects to members of management, as needed.\nReport and maintain appropriate communications with the Managing Director.\nEnvironmental Health & Safety Assessment\nWorks closely with EHS management to assess manufacturing processes and equipment with\nrespect to safety and environmental impact and make recommendations as to changes needed.\nEnsure that all waste generated in the course of assigned job tasks are handled in compliance with Company policy and procedures and local regulations\nQualifications:\nEducation\nA University degree in Chemical Engineering or other related fields and/or approved equivalent experience.\nExperience\nThree or more years’ experience in process engineering for a chemical, food, materials, bio- pharmaceutical, winery or any related field.\nIn the pharmaceutical, yogurt, winemaking, food, flavor, fragrance industries or manufacturers using a yeast extraction process.\nWith production planning and managing inventory.\nWith a cGMP compliant manufacturer\nSkills and Abilities:\nThe ideal candidate will have a combination of the following experiences:\nFermentation, Diafiltration, ultrafiltration, spray drying and production planning\nWorking knowledge and ability managing projects, analyzing data, using statistical methods and engineering principles, with material/chemical processing equipment, and technical writing.\nAbility to communicate effectively in writing and orally.\nAbility to learn how to effectively develop batch procedures and manage process changes and validations per regulatory guidelines.\nUnderstand requirements of the Dextran quality system and direct department staff to ensure they are able to read, understand, interpret and perform all tasks and activities are in compliance.\nAbility to work effectively with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other applicable statistical and engineering software.","description_format":"text","description_chars":4864,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":3,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":[],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-25T00:15:07Z"}],"liveness":{"score":9,"band":"cold","label":"Long shot","p_open":1,"p_active":0.317,"p_room":0.28,"age_days":170,"expected_fill_days":35,"reasons":["conf:0","win:tail","crowd:"],"computed_at":"2026-09-25T04:01:01Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":53169,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/dextran-process-development-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/dextran-process-development-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-09-25T04:01:01Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":4351,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":649,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-09-26T00:00:00Z"}}}
