All database licenses must be optimally used and decommission unused database servers to avoid costs above budget.\n\nTo analyze business application requirements and develop specifications for databases construction and maintenance.\n\nMaintains up-to-date documentation of all enterprise databases operations manuals and procedures.\n\nMonitors the status of end-of-cycle activities including backups ensuring compliance with schedules Critical server Uptime.\n\nInvestigate problems with databases and end-of-cycle runs, ensure appropriate corrective action, or escalate problems as appropriate.\n\nAct as liaison for vendors as they support complex database-related issues, systems, and implementation projects.\n\nAddress a variety of database integration issues including synchronization between disparate databases, integration, maintenance/conversion, capacity planning issues, and new applications.\n\nContribute to the setting of standards for database and ensures conformance to these standards.\n\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:\n\nA University Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Engineering from a reputable institution.\n\nOracle Certified Professional Qualification and or Microsoft Certified Database Administrator.\n\nKnowledge of Microsoft Server Operating Systems and UNIX i.e., SOLARIS & Linux.\n\nExcellent experience in system scripting, such as PERL, PYTHON, Shell, etc.\n\nKnowledge of SQL and database management Systems is a must\n\nExperience working with open-source RDBMS e.g., MySQL.\n\nITIL Foundation training.\n\n5+ years’ working experience preferably with a financial institution in database administration and data center management.\n\nExperience with multiple storage and backup subsystems.\n\nExperience of SQL Server Replication/Load balancing/High Availability.\n\nFull understanding of enterprise change management processes.\n\nAbility to quickly assess organizational needs relative to databases and datacenter problems.\n\nAbility to communicate effectively both in writing and in verbal discussions with users.\n\nGood working knowledge of banking systems, operations, and processes.\n\nKnowledge of SQL Server storage design, Data Warehousing, Reporting and Integration Services.\n\nSelf-motivated team player with the ability to adapt and work co-operatively and effectively in different situations and teams to carry out assigned tasks maintain a positive attitude under stress conditions.\n\nDisposition to share knowledge fully and willingly with other employees in the interest of the organization.\n\nTeam leadership experience.\n\nA good understanding of SQL and Oracle Licensing requirements and licensing terms.\n\nQuick reaction and
