From sourcing ingredients to getting products into customers’ hands, you’ll play a role in delivering the brands people know and love.\nAbout the Role:\nThe Bundaberg Maturation Manager is responsible for leading the safe, compliant and efficient operation of Bundaberg Rum’s maturation, blending and bulk liquid preparation processes. This role ensures the right aged rum profile is available to meet production and customer demand while protecting the quality, consistency and heritage of one of Australia’s most iconic spirits brands.\nWorking closely with Distillation, Planning, Quality, Engineering, Packaging and Logistics, you will oversee day-to-day maturation operations, optimise inventory and liquid availability, and drive continuous improvement across safety, quality and operational performance.\nRole Responsibilities:\nLead the safe and compliant operation of maturation, blending and liquid handling activities, ensuring alignment with HSE, quality, food safety, excise and regulatory requirements. \nManage the execution of maturation plans to deliver the right aged rum volumes and profiles to support bottling, packaging, bulk dispatch and future demand. \nProtect the quality, sensory profile and consistency of Bundaberg Rum by monitoring maturation performance, liquid movements, sampling, blending readiness and inventory integrity. \nCoordinate blending preparation, ingredient additions, quality checks and bulk liquid dispatch to ensure products are production-ready and meet specification. \nPartner with Planning, Quality, Engineering, Logistics and Site Operations to optimise tank capacity, inventory availability, asset reliability and operational performance. \nDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield, loss reduction, inventory accuracy, traceability, asset utilisation and operational efficiency. \nLead and mentor the maturation team, encouraging a strong safety culture, operational rigor and continuous improvement outlook. \nExperience / Skills Required:\nExperience in maturation, blending, beverage alcohol, food manufacturing or another process manufacturing environment.\nProven experience leading people in a process manufacturing environment, with the ability to deliver safe, high-quality operational outcomes.\nSound understanding of liquid handling, process operations, quality systems and safe manufacturing practices, or the ability to quickly develop technical expertise in a regulated environment.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret production, inventory and quality data to support operational decision-making and continuous improvement.\nStrong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across Planning, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Logistics and Technical teams.\nA proactive, people-focused leadership style with a passion for developing teams and driving operational excellence.\nDesirable Experience & Skills\nExperience with inventory management, tank or barrel operations, blending processes, or manufacturing systems such as SAP, MES, SCADA or LIMS.\nExperience with Continuous Improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, TPM or Six Sigma).\nCIBD qualifications in Brewing or Distillation, or a willingness to work towards them.\nFlexible Working:\nFlexibility is key to our success.
