From sourcing ingredients to getting products into customers’ hands, you’ll play a role in delivering the brands people know and love.\nAbout the role (TE)\nExperience/skills required:\nRelevant Electrical qualification (HNC or equivalent)\nMachinery Safety qualification (UCPD/CMSE/C&G, equivalent, or willing to work towards)\nSafety (NEBOSH Certificate or willing to work towards)\nATEX qualification (COMPEX 1-4 and or 14 or equivalent)\nExperience\n3-5 years in similar industrial environment\nKnowledge in CE marking\nKnowledge in machinery safety function design incorporating EN ISO 13849-1/ EN 62061\nKnowledge of The Provision and Use of Work Regulations (PUWER)\nBehaviours\nProblem solving\nEffective Communication\nTeamwork\nResilience -Dealing with challenge\nAdaptability\nTeam member management\nTenacious while not being obstructive.\nAttention to detail.\nSelf leading.\nSafety\nWillingness and aim to lead a culture of safety of equipment, from design, implementation and across the lifecycle of industrial assets.\nPartner with CAPEX teams and suppliers to champion safety compliance to relevant BS/EN/ISO and Diageo standards.\nEnsure compliance with relevant Diageo and Legislative Machinery safety standards with suppliers/OEMs.\nLead and or support incident investigation, root cause analysis and ensure completion of corrective & preventative actions as SME.\nMachinery Safety\nCreate, review, and update relevant technical standards for Machinery Safety to stay in sync with Diageo GRMS’s\nProvide/update PUWER machinery assessments within GDBS sector production locations.\nCo-ordinate PUWER machinery assessments for agreed review period.\nProvide Machinery Safety guidance to site and local Governance partners.\nSupport review and update of global Engineering standards and Legislation owned by others. (e.g. Packaging, FAT, Validation standards)\nAbility to engage with multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise based on risk or complexity.\nDemonstrate influence and leadership to build competency within multi-disciplinary project teams within SME remit.\nMaintain difficulty in equipment safety validation documentation.\nUse existing reporting tools and frameworks to provide PUWER assessment status & action management data.\nCapture takeaways during projects and improvements to standards.\nSupport development of improved ways of working including new tools and templates.\nSupport development of Machinery safety statistics and data reporting tools for weekly Data and quarterly reports.\nEngineering\nApply Engineering technical expertise in relevant subject area to develop or approve safety solutions suitable for industrial applications on behalf of project lead.\nGeneral technical awareness and understanding of wide range of relevant technical subject areas (e.g. civil, mechanical/process, electrical, process control systems)\nTranslate non-technical project scopes into technical specifications to be used in engineering designs to stay in sync with Diageo internal or external standards and regulations.\nConsult with external design partners to ensure robust designs that meet safety and compliance requirements.\nEnsure installations meet required safety standards and support validation processes.\nCollaborate with technical SMEs to ensure collaboration with Functional specialties (PTT, OT etc.)\nUnderstand & interpret electrical drawings and SRCS validation reports.\nFind opportunities for cost reduction, sustainability improvements, and process improvements through optioneering for machine safety design solutions.\nStay on top of legislative changes and translate impact on Diageo GE\nStakeholder Management\nActively manage relationships with site teams from Operator level (L6/L7), Leadership (L5) and Senior Leadership (L4)\nSupport Lead PE and PE with comms & relationships with Suppliers on technical matters.\nManage conflicting priorities between stakeholder groups (e.g. site teams, CAPEX delivery, Governance)\nEnsure relevant stakeholders are kept informed on strategy changes and communicate requirements and duties under legislation changes.\nCommercial\nSupport CAPEX teams developing value engineering solutions for safety and compliance with hazardous energies.\nSupport CAPEX PEs with procurement to manage safety risk of equipment design and build, especially on high value or high-risk projects.\nAssess proposals from suppliers & contractors and drive value for Diageo through negotiation and innovation for equipment safety management and design from a lifecycle POV.\nDigital skills\nExperience in use of Microsoft 365 suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)\nBasic use of SAP DEP\nFamiliarity of AutoCAD tools\nWorking with Us\nFlexibility is key to our success.
