Then this may be the opportunity for you!\nAbout the role\nReports to the Site Manager, the First Class Chief Power Engineer & Environmental Manager will ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of energy systems while leading all aspects of site environmental activities. This person will chip in to optimizing energy performance and reducing environmental impact.\nOperations and Maintenance\nOversee powerhouse operations (boilers, steam, water systems, and utilities)\nPlan shutdowns, inspections, and preventive/corrective maintenance\nEnsure compliance with all regulations and standards\nOptimize equipment performance and reliability\nEnvironmental Management\nManage environmental programs (air, water, waste, GHGs)\nEnsure compliance with environmental laws and permits\nLead audits and regulatory reporting\nImplement continuous improvement initiatives\nHealth & Safety\nPromoting a strong safety culture\nEnsure safe operating procedures are followed\nParticipate in incident investigations and corrective actions\nTeam Leadership\nLead, coach, and develop team members\nPlan schedules and ensure operational coverage\nEnsure required training and certifications\nContinuous Improvement\nIdentify and lead energy efficiency and emission reduction projects\nTrack performance standards and recommend improvements\nRequirements\nValid 1st Class Power Engineer certification (mandatory)\n5-10 years of experience in an industrial environment\nExperience in team leadership and regulatory compliance\nAssets\nHigher education in engineering or environmental field\nKnowledge of ISO 14001\nSkills\nStrong leadership and team engagement\nHigh level of accountability and attention to detail\nAnalytical and problem-solving abilities\nExcellent communication skills\nWorking Conditions\nIndustrial environment\nOn-call availability required\nFlexible hours based on operational needs\nFlexibility is key to our success.
