Support the Head of technical accounting in resolution of complex accounting issues, implementation of new accounting standards. Supports the Financial reporting team about preparation/review of the Group’s Annual report and Red book, Press release and various other statutory filings (20-F, 6-K etc.) and resolution of complex accounting standards\nYou will be responsible for:\nThis role supports the accurate and timely reporting of external financial statements and reports by:\nPreparation of accounting papers to support Diageo’s accounting treatment in complex accounting issues. Taking ownership for such issues and working with markets to drive and achieve the best outcome for Diageo.\n\nPreparation and review of Group annual report, Press release, 20-F and 6-K with particular focus on compliance with IFRS and other external reporting obligations.\n\nCoordination of the activities of the Financial Reporting team in\nMonitoring the accuracy of the reporting received from the business and communicating errors and improvement opportunities\n\nPreparation of internal and external financial reporting documents\n\nRegional support for group accounting questions:\nMonitors compliance with existing group accounting policies and update it for new accounting standards and interpretations. Communicate to the broader finance sector through technical accounting update training or equivalent\n\nEngage with markets ensure they are fully compliant. Provide support for market issues/initiatives\n\nGood business partnering with markets and senior team members to ensure timely reporting and technical issue resolution\n\nLiaison with group auditors for the interim, annual and Sox audits.\n\nAbout you\nQualifications\nBachelor's or Master's degree preferably in Finance, Accounting\n\nProfessional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA) is an advantage\n\nExperience\n10+ years of strong financial accounting experience, including significant experience in IFRS reporting\n\nProven experience in preparing statutory accounts in accordance with IFRS and relevant accounting standards\n\nExperience working in a multinational finance environment across different commercial and cultural markets\n\nFlexible Working Statement\nFlexibility is key to our success.
