You will work hands-on across the process: molding and extruding the material, characterizing its properties, and engineering its interfaces with diamond and glass substrates. It’s a rare early-career chance to take a novel material from lab experiments to high-volume production, working alongside laser, optical, and manufacturing engineers.\nThis role will be located in Fremont, CA, and will require this candidate to be on-site 5 days a week.\nResponsibilities\nRun moderate-temperature molding processes and help design and fabricate molds, tuning temperature, pressure, and surface finish to reduce defects\n\nRun extrusion trials and measure how temperature, pressure, and die design affect flow, surface quality, and dimensional consistency\n\nCharacterize the material’s thermal, optical, and flow properties before and after processing, and track how they change over reuse cycles\n\nClean and functionalize diamond and glass substrate surfaces (e.g., plasma treatment) and evaluate adhesion and interface quality\n\nRun designed experiments and turn the data into process improvements, documenting them in SOPs and following EHS practices for toxic materials\n\nRequirements\nBS or MS in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field;
