The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Kotlin Android, Jetpack Compose and NATS communication protocol for real-time, event-driven data integration within automotive systems.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, and maintain customized HMI applications on Android Automotive OS (AAOS)\n\nImplement brand-specific and highly configurable UI components using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose\n\nIntegrate UI from Kanzi, Qt, CGI(any other similar tool) into AAOS platform and apps\n\nIntegrate HMI layers with backend services and in-vehicle systems using NATS (pub/sub, event-driven messaging)\n\nHandle real-time data updates and asynchronous communication via NATS\n\nWork closely with UX/UI designers to translate design concepts into high-quality implementations\n\nCustomize layouts, themes, animations, and transitions to meet OEM requirements\n\nOptimize performance, boot time, memory usage, and UI responsiveness\n\nDebug and resolve application, integration, and system-level issues\n\nEnsure compliance with automotive UX, safety, and driver distraction guidelines\n\nRequired Skills & Qualifications\n3-5 years of experience in Android or automotive HMI development\n\nHands-on experience in Kotlin and Android application development with Jetpack Compose for modern UI development\n\nProficiency in Java, C/C++, Android programming\n\nSolid experience working on Android Automotive OS (AAOS)\n\nPractical experience with integration of UI from Kanzi, QT, CGI(or similar tool) in AAOS\n\nExperience using NATS communication protocol for real-time messaging and data exchange\n\nStrong understanding of Android lifecycle, threading, and performance optimization\n\nExposure to MVVM / MVI architecture patterns to build scalable, maintainable applications\n\nStrong ability to translate UX designs from Figma (or similar tools) into production-ready HMI screens, ensuring alignment with automotive UI/UX standards\n\nProficiency with debugging, CI/CD and profiling tools (Android Studio, logcat, GIT etc.)\n\nGood to Have\nExperience with automotive infotainment (IVI) or cockpit systems\n\nKnowledge of Car UX Restrictions and driver safety compliance\n\nHands-on experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs, with efficient handling of real-time data streams\n\nFamiliarity with vehicle signals, VHAL, CAN, or automotive middleware\n\nExperience customizing HMIs for OEM-specific branding and UX guidelines\n\nSoft Skills\nStrong problem-solving and analytical capabilities with a structured, solution-oriented approach\n\nEffective communicator, able to collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams\n\nDemonstrates a high sense of ownership with a strong focus on quality, accountability, and on-time delivery\n\nWorking with Embitel\nFreedom to challenge norms, make mistakes, learn and grow\nThere is no ‘I’ in word ‘Team’ and no hierarchy at Embitel\nEmployees of Embitel are partners of our excellence and growth.
