Currently, around 4,000 employees are working at CARIAD on the digital transformation of the car. CARIAD is working intensively on the software and technology platform for Premium Platform Electric (PPE). The first vehicles based on PPE will be the electric Porsche Macan and Audi Q6 e-tron. At the core of CARIAD is the development of the unified and scalable software and technology platform E³ 2.0 for all Group brands. E³ stands for ‘end to end electronics architecture’. The new software and technology platform is built from scratch and will be used first at the end of 2024 in Artemis, the lighthouse project of Audi. As of 2026, E³ 2.0 is due to be scaled by the Volkswagen brand with Trinity in the volume segment.
About our Group
CARIAD COE (Centre of Excellence) is setup in Bangalore, India working exclusively with CARIAD and associated VW groups with the focus on development of ‘VW.OS”. The areas of work involve development of platform components such as firmware, boot loaders, AUTOSAR, Linux/QNX BSP, Service oriented architecture-based middleware components.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable Data Collection Systems for ADAS platforms.
- Develop and integrate Data Collection Framework (DCF) functionalities, including: Configuration file handling Event detection and trigger management Event-based data recording Event metadata management Image sequence recording
- Develop solutions for raw image data handling and processing.
- Design, implement, integrate, and test the Trigger Framework.
- Port and integrate RVT (Rivian) Data Collection Agents into the CAS platform.
- Develop and integrate platform services related to: Data management Data persistence Ring-buffer storage UDS diagnostic services
- Perform feature development, integration, debugging, bug fixing, and testing.
- Work on embedded software industrialization and release activities.
- Perform system-level debugging on embedded hardware.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, testers, and other stakeholders to deliver production-ready software.
- Analyze and resolve complex issues related to data collection, sensor data, vehicle data, and embedded platform functionality.
- Contribute to software architecture and design decisions for embedded ADAS systems.
- Support continuous improvement of development, build, integration, and release processes.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Embedded Systems, Electronics, or a related field; equivalent hands-on experience is also considered.
- 8+ years of experience in embedded software development, preferably in the automotive or safety-critical domain.
- Strong hands-on programming experience in C++.
- Good programming experience in Python for automation, tooling, or framework development.
- Strong understanding of embedded software architecture and design principles.
- Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as QNX or similar.
- Strong knowledge of system-level programming and low-level debugging.
- Experience working with embedded hardware and debugging system-level issues.
- Experience with data logging, data collection, telemetry, or recording systems, preferably involving: Camera/sensor data Vehicle data Event-triggered recording Image sequences
- Experience with ring-buffer or persistent storage mechanisms.
- Knowledge/experience with UDS diagnostic services.
- Experience in feature development, integration, debugging, and bug fixing.
- Hands-on experience with build environments, development tooling, integration, and software releases.
- Good understanding of ISO 26262 and Automotive SPICE (ASPICE).
- Experience working in structured automotive software development environments.
Preferred / Good to Have
- Experience in ADAS / Autonomous Driving / Automated Parking systems.
- Experience with camera, radar, LiDAR, or other automotive sensors.
- Experience with raw image data and high-volume sensor-data handling.
- Experience with data acquisition or vehicle data recording platforms.
- Experience with Rivian/RVT platforms or similar automotive data collection systems.
- Knowledge of AUTOSAR, if applicable.
- Experience with Linux/QNX command-line debugging and embedded development tools.
- Knowledge of Git, CMake, CI/CD, Jenkins or similar build and integration tools.
- Experience working in safety-critical software development environments.
