The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development, integration, testing, debugging, and validation of embedded software components for automotive ECU applications. The role requires strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work effectively across development, diagnostics, and software validation activities.\nKey Responsibilitie s:\nDevelop, integrate, test, and debug embedded software components using Embedded C for automotive ECU applications.\nImplement and maintain automotive diagnostic functionality based on UDS (ISO 14229) and related diagnostic concepts.\nWork with CAN and ISO-TP (ISO 15765) communication for diagnostic data exchange between tester and ECU.\nDevelop and debug diagnostic services such as:\nDiagnostic Session Control (0x10)\nECU Reset (0x11)\nSecurity Access (0x27)\nCommunication Control (0x28)\nRead/Write Data by Identifier (0x22/0x2E)\nRoutine Control (0x31)\nRequest Download/Transfer Data (0x34/0x36)\nDTC services (0x14/0x19)\nAnalyze and troubleshoot issues using debuggers, CAN analyzers, trace logs, and diagnostic tools.\nPerform unit testing, integration testing, functional testing, and diagnostic validation of embedded software.\nAnalyze software requirements and contribute to software design, implementation, and technical documentation.\nInvestigate defects, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.\nSupport integration of diagnostic software with CAN stacks, transport protocol, bootloader, application software, and other ECU components.\nWork with automotive development and quality processes such as, coding guidelines, and defect-management processes.\nCollaborate with architects, technical leads, testers, and customers to resolve technical issues and clarify requirements.\nSupport software release activities, including build generation, integration, testing, and release documentation.\nRequired Skills & Experience:\n3-5 years of experience in Embedded Software Development, preferably in the Automotive domain.\nStrong programming skills in Embedded C.\nGood understanding of:\nPointers, structures, unions, function pointers\nMemory management\nBit manipulation\nInterrupts and timers\nEmbedded programming concepts\nMicrocontroller peripherals\nGood knowledge of automotive communication protocols, particularly:\nCAN\nISO-TP / ISO 15765\nUDS / ISO 14229\nHands-on understanding of automotive diagnostic concepts and UDS services.\nExperience in implementing, integrating, testing, or debugging ECU diagnostic functionality.\nExperience with diagnostic and CAN tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, CANape, or equivalent tools.\nGood debugging and troubleshooting skills using debuggers, logs, CAN traces, and test tools.\nFamiliarity with MISRA C and static-analysis tools is preferred.\nExperience with Git/SVN or other version-control systems.\nKnowledge of Bootloader, ECU flashing, and programming services is desirable.\nGood analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.\nNice to Have:\nExperience on J1939, ISO15031, J1979, KWP200 Protocols.\nUnderstanding on CMMI and ASPICE process.\nKnowledge of bootloaders and firmware update mechanisms.\nRequirement management tools like Code beamer or doors.\nEducation:\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.\nWorking with Embitel\nFreedom to challenge norms, make mistakes, learn and grow\nThere is no ‘I’ in word ‘Team’ and no hierarchy at Embitel\nEmployees of Embitel are partners of our excellence and growth.
