This role is ideal for a technically strong, customer-facing engineer who can understand complex customer operations, question requirements, design scalable solutions, and build the systems needed to deploy Didero successfully.\nYou will work directly with customers to understand their end-to-end procurement and operations workflows including ERP integrations, data pipelines, workflow automation, supplier communication flows, reporting, and custom deployment needs. You will translate messy real-world processes into reliable, maintainable technical systems.\nThis is a hands-on engineering role. You will build backend systems, integrations, APIs, data pipelines, and workflow automations using the best technical approach for the problem. While our core platform is built with Django, we care more about solving customer problems than using any single technology. You'll use the right tools and technologies for each integration or deployment.\nYou will work with systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Business Central, Zip, and other procurement, ERP, finance, and operational platforms. You will also partner closely with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Forward Deployed teams to ensure customer deployments are scalable and aligned with our product direction.\nWe are looking for someone who is not just an implementer. The right person is a systems thinker who asks why, challenges assumptions, pushes back on unclear requirements, and helps customers arrive at better solutions.\nPlease Note: This is a hybrid role based in NYC and may involve occasional on-site work with customers, approximately 1-2 per month, to support discovery sessions, technical workshops, and deployment phases.\nWhat You’ll Do\nWork directly with customers to understand their procurement, finance, ERP, and operational workflows.\n\nQuestion and clarify customer requirements, identifying the underlying business need rather than blindly implementing requests.\n\nDesign and build integrations with ERP, procurement, finance, and operational systems.\n\nBuild backend services, APIs, data pipelines, workflow automations, and customer-specific technical solutions.\n\nTranslate ambiguous customer processes into structured, scalable system designs.\n\nPartner with Product and Engineering to identify repeatable patterns that should become part of the core platform.\n\nDebug complex integration issues across customer systems, third-party APIs, data models, and internal services.\n\nSupport customer discovery, deployment planning, and technical implementation.\n\nHelp define best practices for forward-deployed engineering, customer pipelines, and integration architecture.\n\nYou’ll be successful in this role if you…\nThrive in ambiguity and make steady progress without perfectly defined requirements.\n\nThink in systems, connecting customer workflows, data, and software into scalable solutions.\n\nPartner directly with customers to uncover root problems rather than simply implementing requests.\n\nChallenge assumptions and refine requirements before writing code.\n\nExercise strong engineering judgment, knowing when to build custom solutions, create reusable abstractions, or push back.\n\nBalance customer-specific needs with long-term product thinking by identifying repeatable patterns.\n\nDebug complex integration and distributed systems problems methodically.\n\nCommunicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.\n\nQualifications\n3+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend expertise.\n\nStrong experience building backend services using Python and/or Django (or comparable backend technologies).\n\nExperience designing and building integrations with external systems, APIs, enterprise software, or data pipelines.\n\nExperience working directly with customers or cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.\n\nStrong understanding of distributed systems, API design, debugging, and systems architecture.\n\nExcellent communication and problem-solving skills.\n\nBonus Points For:\nExperience working in Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or Implementation Engineering.\n\nPrior experience integrating multiple ERP systems.\n\nFamiliarity with SAP OData services, NetSuite SuiteTalk/SuiteScript, Microsoft Business Central APIs.\n\nExperience with async processing (Celery, Redis, RabbitMQ) for large data sync jobs.\n\nFamiliarity with Docker, cloud deployment (AWS/Azure/GCP).\n\nKnowledge of financial/accounting workflows and supply chain processes.\n\nTech Stack\nDjango · Python · React · TypeScript\nWhat we value at Didero\nWe go beyond OTIF.
