This position reports to the Purchasing Manager.\nEssential Job Functions\nAssist with vendor contract negotiations, renewals, and purchasing activities while partnering with corporate departments and stakeholders.\nSupport sourcing initiatives and assist in identifying cost savings opportunities across vendor spend.\nCollaborate with stakeholders to assess current and future purchasing needs while identifying opportunities to consolidate spend, improve efficiencies, and increase preferred vendor compliance.\nAnalyze purchasing and spend data to help identify sourcing opportunities, vendor trends, and process improvements.\nSubmit requisitions in the Purchasing system on behalf of business units as needed.\nAdminister various vendor purchasing programs across the company.\nPartner with the Purchasing Manager on sourcing projects and procurement initiatives throughout the year.\nGather feedback from business units regarding vendor performance and assist with resolving purchasing related issues.\nObtain vendor quotes and support pricing and contract negotiations with guidance from the Purchasing Manager.\nAssist in resolving vendor issues related to contract obligations, service levels, product quality, and pricing.\nProvide support to business units regarding purchasing processes, policies, best practices, and contract submissions.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nOther Skills\nAbility to build professional working relationships with employees, vendors, and internal stakeholders.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nStrong organizational, time management, and problem solving skills.\nStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.\nComfortable working independently as well as collaboratively on a team.\nStrong computer skills and willingness to learn new systems and procurement tools.\nProficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.\nEagerness to learn procurement best practices, vendor management, and negotiation techniques.\nAdaptable and willing to take on new responsibilities as business needs evolve.\nEducation / Experience\nBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Purchasing, Finance, Operations, or a related field preferred.\n0 to 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, operations, finance, or another related business function.\nInternship or co-op experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or sourcing is a plus.\nStrong interest in procurement, vendor management, and strategic sourcing.\nExperience organizing or analyzing data in Microsoft Excel is preferred.\nKnowledge of purchasing principles or vendor management is a plus.\nOracle Cloud experience is a plus.\nPurchasing certification is a plus.\nThis position is on site in Hunt Valley, MD. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
