This person is expected to be passionate about the way various components and independent subsystems can be put together to achieve final system/product goals. In this role, you will lead the systems engineering for dedicated ground-based telescopes for SSA, with a future roadmap expanding into Directed Energy Weapons (DEWs), ship-based SSA observatories, and other advanced tactical technologies.\nIdeal Candidate:\nWork experience in systems engineering of ground-based optical observatories, anti-drone (Counter-UAS) platforms, targeting systems, or Directed Energy Weapons (DEWs).\nResponsibilities:\nDefine, document, and manage system requirements throughout the product life cycle.\n\nPlan, configure and allocate requirements to subsystems, ensuring coherence and traceability throughout the design process.\n\nPerform system-level trade-off studies to optimize performance, reliability, and cost.\n\nArchitect and integrate complex electro-optical tracking systems capable of rapid acquisition and high-fidelity tracking of both orbital and atmospheric targets.\n\nDevelop system architectures that scale from static ground observatories to dynamic, ruggedized maritime environments (ship-based SSA).\n\nDevelop and maintain system-level documentation, including specifications, interface control documents, and system design descriptions.\n\nConduct requirements analysis, verification, and validation activities to ensure compliance with customer needs and industry standards.\n\nDevelop risk mitigation plans and monitor their implementation.\n\nFacilitate customer and stakeholder engagement to capture and understand their needs and expectations.\n\nCommunicate technical concepts, requirements, and issues clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n\nQualifications:\nBachelors or Masters in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electronics or a relevant discipline.\n\n2+ years of professional experience in the defense, anti-drone (C-UAS), Space industry or affiliated industries.\n\nProven experience working with precision tracking systems, fast-slewing gimbals, or high-energy optical payloads.\n\nUnderstanding of all the critical subsystems and segments that make up a complex electro-optical targeting or observatory mission.\n\nExperience in engineering project management, ensuring timely delivery, resource allocation, risk management and effective team collaboration.\n\nPreferred Qualities:\nEnd-to-end design and realisation experience (or) Systems integration experience in a subsystem/system involving high-end optics, lasers, or DEWs.\n\nExperience ruggedizing sensitive optical or electronic equipment for harsh environments (e.g., maritime shock and vibration standards).\n\nSkilled in creating detailed technical reports, contents, manuals, and operational guidelines.\n\nExperience with SysML and ECSS (or equivalent defense/MIL-SPEC) standards.\n\nProfessional certification in Systems Engineering (Ex.
