These are just a few of the critical questions our technology is helping to answer. \nAt the heart of our work is the Uncertainty Engine, digiLab's trustworthy and explainable AI platform, enabling our customers to accelerate innovation, reduce risk, and deliver real value through more confident decisions. \nWe are looking for ambitious team members to help shape our pioneering technology and tackle some of the world's most impactful problems. \nSummary: \nThe full-time (Senior) Product Designer role (Monday to Thursday) involves undertaking critical user research and design activities to deliver compelling, intuitive products and experiences at digiLab.\nWorking closely and cross-functionally with internal teams, the role spans user research, information architecture, product discovery and prototyping, interaction and UI design, product documentation and design systems.\nAs digiLab scales beyond its core product offering, this role will help us understand user needs, bring clarity and structure to complex problems, and explore and validate new products and functionality. Working closely with our Design Lead, you will help strengthen the consistency and rigour of our design practice while continuing to contribute directly to high-quality UI design.\nThe role: \nAs the (Senior) Product Designer at digiLab, you will be responsible for:\nWorking closely with our Design Lead and Product Management to understand user and business needs and translate them into effective design solutions.\nConducting user research and usability testing, synthesising findings and using evidence to inform and validate product and design decisions.\nDeveloping information architectures, user flows and content structures that make complex products, functionality and documentation clear and intuitive.\nHelping shape new product offerings and functionality through discovery, rapid prototyping and validation, from early concepts through to detailed design.\nCreating wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs, contributing directly to interaction and UI design.\nCollaborating with Product, Engineering and other teams to ensure designs are feasible, coherent and translate effectively into production.\nContributing to our design system and shared design practices, helping establish greater consistency and rigour as digiLab grows, while adopting AI tools where appropriate to accelerate your work.\nDuties may evolve, and you may be asked to take on other reasonable responsibilities within your competence to support our growth.\nRequired Skills & Experience:\nIndustry experience in product design, UX design or a similar role, working on web-based products and services (not websites).\nStrong user research skills, with experience selecting appropriate methods, conducting research and usability testing, and translating findings into product and design decisions.\nStrong information architecture and interaction design skills, with experience making complex products, content and user journeys clear and intuitive.\nExperience working across the product design lifecycle, from ambiguous early-stage problems and discovery through prototyping, validation, detailed design and implementation.\nStrong UI design skills and proficiency with Figma, with the ability to produce polished interfaces as well as wireframes and prototypes.\nExperience working with design systems and reusable patterns, with a strong appreciation for consistency across products and experiences.\nStrong critical thinking, communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale and work effectively with product managers, designers and software engineers.\nNice to Have:\nExperience with technical or product documentation, content design, taxonomy or complex information structures.\nExperience designing technical, scientific, data-intensive products or data visualisations.\nExperience using product analytics and quantitative measures alongside qualitative UX research.\nFamiliarity with HTML, CSS and modern front-end technologies such as React or TypeScript.\nExperience with accessibility, inclusive design or motion design.\nLocation: \nThis role is on-site at either our Exeter or Bristol office. \nAs an ambitious, rapidly-growing start-up, we’re looking for proactive, adaptable people who thrive in a fast-paced environment.
