To learn more, visit our benefits and perks page.\n______________________________________________________________________\nPosition Overview:\nAs an Industrial Engineering Intern at DigiKey, you will work alongside Engineering team members to improve and define distribution processes and Engineered Labor Standards.This internship is located in DigiKey’s corporate headquarters in Thief River Falls, MN and will require regular onsite attendance. Local housing is provided for interns.\nResponsibilities:\nAssist with day-to-day tasks and projects in our highly automated warehouse system\nUtilize industrial engineering best practices in equipment, process, and human factor analysis\nFocus on human interfacing aspects of process and systems\nObserve, document, and time study processes to help define engineered standards\nIdentify and implement process improvements and waste reduction\nParticipate in team meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions \nCollaborate with team members on various projects and initiatives \nMaintain organized records of work and project files \nGain practical experience in the assigned department \nDevelop a deeper understanding of DigiKey and how it operates \nImprove business skills such communication, project management, data analysis, etc. \nBuild a professional network within the industry \nNothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time\nRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:\nA rising Junior or Senior currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.\nBe willing to take the initiative, working independently and collaboratively \nMust have excellent written and verbal communications skills including average to above-average computer ability \nDemonstrating a positive, collaborative approach is important in this role\nTools/Systems/Software:\nFull Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams and Outlook\nTime Studies and Ergonomics (preferred)\nPhysical Requirements:\nGenerally, spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse and screen\nGenerally, spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body\nCompensation:\nThe base pay range for this position is determined based on a candidate’s relevant experience and their most recently completed year of undergraduate education and/or the graduate program (Masters/PhD) they are pursuing.\nFor undergraduate applicants, the base pay range is $21.00 to $23.00. \nFor graduate applicants, the base pay rate is $26.00 for applicants pursuing a Masters degree and $29.00 for those pursuing a PhD.\n______________________________________________________________________\nMust be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.
