We are a Series B company working to become the platform that defines how veterinary practices run, worldwide. Product and engineering sit here in Iași, around 40 of us.\nSenior Software Engineers at Digitail need to\nCollaborate with Product and Engineering teams to ensure solutions meet business requirements and align with company objectives.\n\nContribute in the entire product development lifecycle, from design and development to deployment and maintenance of new and existing features.\n\nDesign and implement AI-focused workflows, robust, scalable RESTful APIs.\n\nWork closely with other engineers to integrate features, manage dependencies, and solve technical challenges.\n\nOptimize application performance for production-scale environments.\n\nUphold and promote engineering best practices through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.\n\nContinuously learn and explore new technologies, identifying opportunities to enhance our systems.\n\nWho we’re looking for\nYou care about what we build and why we do it. You care about the people using what you build. Ours are vets and we’re helping them see 2x the patients AND get home on time!\n\nYou have spent years building and owning backend systems at real scale and in organizations that grew.\n\nYou have opinions about how to keep complex systems clean as they grow.\n\nYou have worked on something with real availability requirements, where being down really hurts.\n\nYou can look at a slow, complex part of a live system, remain calm and define a few hypotheses about what’s wrong; and you can explain your reasoning.\n\nMost of our backend is PHP and Laravel. If you have not worked in it, that is fine. We care more about how you think about systems than which tech you have used. Strong engineers pick up our stack quickly; we have your back.\n\nThe stack\nPHP and Laravel, organised into domains (modulith).\n\nAWS, Kubernetes, with infrastructure as code.\n\nEvery pull request ships with tests.\n\nWhat success looks like in your first year\nYou own a meaningful part of the backend outright. When something related needs a decision, people come to you.\n\nEngineers and agents write better code because of your reviews, and the less experienced ones are faster after working with you.\n\nYou have led one larger piece of rework end to end: you scoped it, sequenced it and shipped it without a maintenance window.\n\nYou can point to engineering practices now agreed and written down instead of repeatedly finding them in review comments.\n\nYou can point to something you automated that the team used to catch by hand, or miss entirely.\n\nTo Apply\nPlease upload your resume and email a 2-minute “why” video (e.g., Why Digitail?
