Establish sovereign capability. Shape the future of industrial supply.\nMBK Global is seeking an accomplished, entrepreneurial General Manager to establish and scale an additive manufacturing business with a strategically important purpose: building sovereign additive manufacturing capability for Qatar and its critical sectors.\nThe opportunity brings together world-leading international manufacturing partners, major industrial customers and proven technologies to change how equipment and spare parts are sourced, manufactured and supplied.\nProofs of concept are already progressing with some of the world's largest organisations in their respective segments. Your task is to execute these flawlessly, convert demonstrated value into commercial adoption, and build a sustainable business serving oil and gas, aviation, defence and other demanding industries.\nThis role offers the opportunity to build an enduring industrial capability: strengthening supply chain resilience, addressing obsolescence, reducing lead times and supporting the reliable operation of critical assets.\nYour mandate\nYou will own the business from feasibility and formation through to commercial delivery and profitable growth. Your accountability spans strategy, operations, commercial development, finance, people, partnerships, quality and risk.\nWorking with the CEO, Board and international partners, you will establish a practical route from partner-enabled manufacturing and initial customer deliveries to a qualified, commercially viable manufacturing capability in Qatar.\nYou will combine the initiative of a business founder with the discipline expected in safety-critical industries.\nWhat you will lead\nBusiness establishment and investment readiness\nDevelop and execute the business plan, feasibility study, financial model and phased mobilisation roadmap.\nValidate customer demand, prioritise commercially attractive applications and determine the appropriate manufacturing technologies, facilities and investment sequence.\nLead establishment activities, including permits, licences, facilities, equipment, operating systems and supplier arrangements.\nIdentify and secure applicable subsidies, incentives and industrial development support; develop funding proposals and investment cases for Board approval.\nBuild local capability through technology transfer, workforce development and partnerships that support sustainable operations in Qatar.\nPartnerships and commercial growth\nLead joint venture negotiations with international partners under an explicit Board mandate, supported by legal, financial and technical specialists.\nEstablish clear arrangements for governance, investment, technology transfer, intellectual property, licensing, quality responsibilities and commercial rights.\nBuild trusted relationships with operators, OEMs, government stakeholders and the wider industrial ecosystem.\nDevelop the customer pipeline, lead tenders and proposals, and negotiate customer contracts within delegated authority.\nBuild viable models for OEM-authorised contract manufacture of equipment and spares, alongside properly authorised solutions for obsolete and difficult-to-source parts.\nConvert successful proofs of concept into repeat orders, framework agreements and enduring customer relationships.\nOperational delivery and technical assurance\nTake ownership of ongoing proofs of concept, with clear scope, acceptance criteria, responsibilities, milestones and customer approval gates.\nEnsure parts are delivered on time, to specification and to the required quality, with complete supporting documentation.\nOversee the full delivery chain: application selection, engineering, manufacturing, post-processing, inspection, testing, qualification, logistics and customer acceptance.\nEstablish robust quality management, health and safety, traceability and supplier assurance processes appropriate to each application and sector.\nEnsure OEM intellectual property, design authority, licensing, warranties and product liability are explicitly addressed.\nProtect customer technical data and digital manufacturing files, including applicable confidentiality, cybersecurity and export-control requirements.\nFinancial performance and organisation\nOwn the profit and loss account, budgets, cash flow, working capital, capital expenditure and business performance.\nMaintain disciplined pricing, costing, margin management, contract risk assessment and cash collection.\nRecruit and lead a capable team, drawing effectively on partner expertise while developing local competence.\nEstablish clear performance measures, management reporting and escalation processes for the COO and Board.\nScale investment and capacity in line with validated demand and delivery readiness.\nAdoption and change leadership\nHelp engineering, integrity, maintenance, procurement and leadership teams assess where additive manufacturing creates credible operational and commercial value.\nAddress concerns through evidence, transparent technical evaluation and controlled qualification.\nTranslate proven technologies into repeatable operating practices, procurement pathways and customer confidence.\nBuild adoption through respectful, trust-based relationships and consistent delivery in Qatar's business and working environment.\nWhat you will bring\nEssential\nSubstantial oil and gas industry experience, with practical experience spanning asset integrity, reliability, maintenance and supply chain within asset operations or asset management.\nA demonstrated record of establishing, scaling or transforming an industrial business or substantial business unit, with commercial and financial accountability.\nExperience delivering complex industrial projects or manufacturing programmes where safety, specification, quality and schedule are critical.\nSufficient technical understanding of industrial additive manufacturing, materials, qualification and manufacturing economics to lead specialists, challenge assumptions and make sound investment decisions.\nUnderstanding of critical spare parts, obsolescence, equipment lifecycle management and the consequences of supply disruption.\nExperience working with OEMs and managing intellectual property, licensing or contract manufacturing arrangements.\nStrong negotiation skills and the ability to translate partnerships and customer opportunities into executable, financially sound agreements.\nCultural awareness and the ability to build respectful, durable relationships in Qatar.\nAn engineering or closely related technical qualification, or equivalent demonstrable professional experience.\nStrong professional English, willingness to travel internationally, and the ability to mobilise immediately and work full-time in Qatar.\nParticularly valuable\nDirect leadership experience in metal additive manufacturing or advanced industrial manufacturing.\nExperience establishing a manufacturing facility, industrial joint venture or localised technology capability.\nExposure to aviation or defence qualification and customer requirements.\nQatar or wider GCC experience, including industrial development programmes and local supply chains.\nExperience developing national talent and transferring technical capability from international partners.\nHow you work matters\nYou are comfortable building from a blank sheet, making decisions with incomplete information and remaining accountable for the outcome. You move quickly, prioritise rigorously and work directly with customers, partners and your team to resolve problems.\nYou recognise that industrial transformation succeeds when technical evidence, commercial value and stakeholder confidence come together. You are candid about what is proven, what requires validation and what must be in place before a part enters service.\nAbove all, you deliver on commitments while protecting safety, quality and trust.\nWhat success looks like\nYour early priorities will be to establish an executable mobilisation plan, bring ongoing proofs of concept through agreed customer acceptance gates, advance the partnership and permitting workstreams, and build a qualified commercial pipeline.\nAs the business scales, success will be measured through customer adoption and repeat orders, delivery and quality performance, margins and cash generation, and tangible progress towards sustainable manufacturing capability in Qatar.\nWhy join us?\nThis is an opportunity to take full business leadership responsibility for an initiative with long-term importance to Qatar's critical sectors.\nYou will work with leading international partners, help shape a new industrial business from its foundations, and participate in the value you create through a package combining fixed salary, performance-related pay and vesting shares.\nApply\nSubmit your CV and a brief statement covering:\nAn industrial business or capability you have built or scaled, and the measurable results.\nYour relevant oil and gas, asset management and manufacturing experience.\nYour current location and earliest date for mobilisation in Qatar.\nHelp build the capability that keeps critical industries operating-and prepares them for what comes next.","description_format":"text","description_chars":9438,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":[],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-13T03:24:15Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.86,"p_room":1,"age_days":1,"expected_fill_days":21,"reasons":["conf:4","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-14T06:34:16Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/digital-general-manager-additive-manufacturing","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/digital-general-manager-additive-manufacturing.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-14T15:59:52Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":20345,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-15T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":4421508},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=4421508"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fdigital-general-manager-additive-manufacturing"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fdigital-general-manager-additive-manufacturing"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fdigital-general-manager-additive-manufacturing"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/digital-general-manager-additive-manufacturing\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fdigital-general-manager-additive-manufacturing"}]}
