The Controller will plan and direct the accounting operations of the company. The Controller will establish and maintain the company’s overall accounting systems, procedures, and policies in support of the company’s strategic objectives and processes. \nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nOversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include general ledger, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.\nOversees accounting-related training programs and identifies training needs.\nEssential Functions: \nDevise and oversee implementation of accounting policy\nMaintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.\nIdentify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies.\nImplements and maintains all aspects of the Company’s enterprise resource planning system and facilitates training for employees as appropriate. \nOversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. \nSupervise the monthly close process, monthly billings to customers, collection of accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, expense reporting and payroll.\nPresent financial reports and control matters to executive leadership.\nRecommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.\nProduces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.\nLeads pricing strategy and cost/price proposal development for new business pursuits and contract modifications, in coordination with Business Development and Contracts, along with financial analysis emphasizing capital investments and contract negotiations.\nWorks with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit, and works with external tax preparers on the completion of Federal and State tax reporting requirements.\nWork with program and project managers to evaluate budget and forecast comparisons.\nFiles quarterly and annual reports with the regulatory agencies as required.\nEnsures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.\nPerforms other related duties as necessary or assigned.\nPartner with the CFO on financial reporting, planning, and risk management.\nPromote and institute process improvement initiatives throughout the close and reporting cycle.\n Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Excellent management and supervisory skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nExcellent organizational and time management skills.\nDeep expertise in GAAP, internal controls, financial reporting, and the ERP and close-automation platforms modern finance teams rely on.\nExperience with Unanet (or comparable GovCon-specific ERP/timekeeping systems) strongly preferred. \nExcellent analytical skills and strong knowledge of DFARS, FAR as well as DCAA and DCMA compliance.\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.\nExperience applying AI-enabled tools to accounting close, reconciliation, or reporting processes to improve efficiency and support scalability, a plus. \nDemonstrated experience in government contract pricing, including cost volume development, indirect rate structuring (fringe, overhead, G&A), and cost- or price-based proposal strategies for competitive bids and task orders.\n Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience:Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.\n8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience.\nCertified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation strongly preferred. \n Physical Job Requirements: This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) more than half the time\nThis position requires the ability to spend more than half the time viewing computer monitors\nMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. \nTravel Requirements:This position has up to 25% travel requirements\n Primary Work Location: Digital Cloak headquarters, meetings within the Northern Virginia Area (NVA).Salary Range: $165,000-$190,000 Annually, depending on experience and qualifications.\nOther Duties: This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
