This role is primarily focused on application-level database support rather than infrastructure management. The DBA will act as an L2/L3 support resource, serving as an initial point of contact for database-related issues and helping project teams through development, QA, UAT, and release/deployment stages.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nSupport database deployments and project delivery activities.\nProvide database and environment support across QA, UAT, and release/deployment stages.\nManage database users, access, permissions, and security-related administration.\nMonitor database performance and troubleshoot SQL and database issues.\nInvestigate locking and blocking, long-running jobs, and data-processing failures.\nIdentify missing or ineffective indexes and support SQL performance troubleshooting.\nReview database logs and monitor CPU and storage utilization.\nTroubleshoot database job failures and diagnose environment issues.\nAct as a first point of contact for database issues and resolve or escalate as appropriate.\nManage support tickets and drive issues to resolution.\nReview database code changes and support code merging into GitHub repositories.\nSupport development teams during implementation.\nExecute database deployment scripts using instructions provided through ServiceNow or Jira workflows.\nSupport deployments into QA and UAT environments and troubleshoot deployment issues.\nAssist with database changes between environments and resolve integration and testing issues.\nSupport project teams throughout the delivery lifecycle from development through release.\n\nRequired Technical Skills\n\nApplication DBA experience focused on project delivery and operational support.\nStrong SQL Server and/or Oracle database experience.\nExperience with database application support and production support.\nExperience with database deployments and environment support.\nHands-on knowledge of database access and permissions management.\nExperience troubleshooting SQL performance, locking, blocking, and long-running jobs.\nAbility to investigate data-processing and database job failures.\nExperience reviewing database logs and monitoring resource utilization.\nExperience supporting QA and UAT database environments.\nExperience executing database deployment scripts and troubleshooting deployment issues.\nWorking knowledge of GitHub-based code workflows.\nExperience with ServiceNow and Jira workflows.\n\nPreferred Skills\n\nExperience in L2/L3 Application DBA or database production support environments.\nExperience supporting data warehouse development projects.\nExposure to database code review and GitHub workflows.\nExperience supporting database changes across Development, QA, UAT, and Release environments.\nExperience with SQL Server and Oracle in enterprise environments.\nStrong troubleshooting and issue-resolution skills.\nAbility to collaborate with developers, QA teams, and project teams.\n\nAI Experience\n\nAI experience is not specified in the supplied requirements and is therefore not mandatory for this role.\n\nManagerial Experience\n\nDirect people-management responsibility is not specified.
