Lead with purpose.\nWe are looking for a compassionate, capable and commercially aware individual to join our team as Funeral Branch Manager in Denton. Internally, this role carries the contractual title of Senior Funeral Director, reflecting its seniority and responsibility within our funerals business.\nThis is a leadership role for someone who combines empathy with operational strength. You’ll guide families through some of the most important moments of their lives while leading your team to deliver consistently high standards, regulatory excellence and sustainable branch performance.\nWhy This Role Matters\nEvery branch is built on trust, trust from families, colleagues and the wider community.\nAs a Senior Funeral Director you are the standard-setter. Around 70% of your time will be spent delivering and overseeing funeral services. The remaining time will focus on leading people, maintaining operational control, managing compliance and ensuring the branch performs both commercially and professionally.\nYou will be responsible for:\nLeading and developing your team\nMaintaining high service and care standards\nEnsuring regulatory compliance and audit readiness\nSupporting at-need performance and funeral plan conversations\nBuilding a strong, visible local presence\nYour Impact\nLead and Support Funeral Services\nDeliver complex funeral arrangements with professionalism and empathy\nGuide families clearly through options and next steps\nRun pre-funeral briefings and oversee service delivery\nObserve arrangements and funerals to uphold care standards\nManage and Develop the Team\nLead recruitment, onboarding and ongoing 1:1 performance conversations\nManage rotas, holiday and sickness cover\nEnsure regulatory training and compliance standards are met\nEmbed accountability, professionalism and ownership\nSupport succession planning and development\nDrive Operational Excellence\nOversee branch standards and high-quality care of the deceased\nMaintain accurate records and legal documentation\nEnsure inspection readiness and regulatory compliance\nMonitor costs including overtime and hire cars\nIdentify service improvements and implement change\nBuild Local Presence\nLead local marketing activity\nDevelop relationships with care homes, celebrants and community groups\nRepresent the branch at memorials and events\nPromote services in a supportive, consultative way\nWhat compliance\nConfidence operating within regulated or policy-driven environments\nCommercial awareness and comfort working with targets and cost control\nStrong organisational and documentation skills\nCalm decision-making in emotionally sensitive situations\nA full UK driving licence\nFlexibility to work evenings, weekends and on-call\nFuneral sector experience is desirable but not
