Material suppliers, distributors, and wholesalers are some of the most important stakeholders in the construction industry but are often the last to get paid. These companies are the backbone of the US economy - they are the nexus of what gets built and what gets moved in this country. At Dill, we build products that help construction suppliers improve cash flow, reduce risk, operate more efficiently, and stay competitive. You’ll be joining a YC backed, fast-growing company with a second-time founder (previous exit in construction technology).\nThe Role\nWe are looking for an AI Engineer / Lead to help lead our AI & data function at Dill and help us build category-defining products. Your focus area will be building and scaling AI agents and features on a growing dataset in a way that makes the most sense for our industry. You’ll work with our engineering, design, and product teams to help shape the roadmap and drive real impact for our customers and this industry.\nWhat You'll Do\nBuild the AI & data systems that automate workflows like collections, credit decisioning, cash application, and more.\nTurn LLMs and agents into reliable, production-grade features, with the right evals and observability.\nAct as player-coach with our existing team of engineers.\nWrite high-quality, clean and performant code.\nHave high autonomy, own things end to end, and project manage your own work.\nWhat We're Looking For\nYou have 3+ years experience building product features (demonstrating strong full-stack fundamentals) as well as building with modern ML or LLMs and evaluating output quality.\nYou’ve led or played lead to a team of engineers.\nYou are able to communicate technical solutions and tradeoffs clearly.\nYou’ve worked at startups previously and get excited by solving ambiguous problems. \nYou have a strong product sense and are able to quickly translate customer requirements into technical decisions in our codebase.\n(Bonus) You have experience with our tech stack (React, Firebase, PostgreSQL, GCP).\n(Bonus) Experience with infrastructure and systems architecture.","description_format":"text","description_chars":2176,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":3,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Billing & Subscription Management","Payment Processing & Gateways"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-03T15:59:26Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.86,"p_room":1,"age_days":2,"expected_fill_days":26,"reasons":["conf:1","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-06T05:45:30Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":200000,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/dill-ai-engineer-lead","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/dill-ai-engineer-lead.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-06T22:58:56Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":3799,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":1201,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-07T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":9386},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=9386"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fdill-ai-engineer-lead"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fdill-ai-engineer-lead"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fdill-ai-engineer-lead"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/dill-ai-engineer-lead\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fdill-ai-engineer-lead"}]}
