To succeed in this role, you must have advanced SQL skills and be proficient in Python, Kornshell, or other scripting languages. You must also be a self-starter who enjoys working collaboratively and has strong communication skills.\nTHE TEAM\nThis role is on our Business Intelligence (BI) team which is responsible for the data and delivery of business reports to many partners within Dillard’s. These reports are a critical part of our business, and we rely on BI to provide accurate and timely data. The work is fast-paced and never dull. Working on this team will allow you to explore many areas of the business.\nWHAT YOU WILL DO\nGather business requirements, and identify data needed to derive solutions successfully\nDevelop ETL processes to load data into the data warehouse, using Datastage, KSH, Python, & SQL\nDesign and Develop standard BI reports\nWrite and implement data validations and be accountable to the cleanliness & accuracy of the data and report outputs\nWork with BI Technical Architects to tune SQL\nPerform ad hoc analysis when business users need a one-off answer to make an immediate decision\nContribute to peer code reviews and on-call rotations\nParticipate in department-wide initiatives to maintain and improve foundational infrastructure\nEngage in the modernization of ETL processes\nTHE MUST-HAVES\nStrong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills\nAdvanced SQL skills\nProactively seek opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change to existing processes or procedures\nRemain at the forefront of emerging industry best practices\nWork well in a collaborative team environment\nHighly motivated self-starter with good communication skills\nCritical thinker\nHave a working knowledge of Business Intelligence concepts and Data Warehousing methodologies and best practices\nExperience programming in Python, Korn shell, or other scripting languages\nTHE NICE-TO-HAVES\nIBM Cognos Experience\nHave exposure to InfoSphere DataStage or a similar ETL tool\nExperience with data warehouse platforms\nLocation & Hours: This is a full-time, on-site position located at our Little Rock, Arkansas headquarters.
