Because we are an employee-owned firm, your voice will be an essential part of our shared success.\nResponsibilities\nTechnical Activities & Administration\nContribute to a variety of traffic engineering/operations studies or transit planning and strategic multi-modal transportation planning projects, such as policy development, demand forecasting, master plans, corridor studies, traffic impact assessments (TIAs), rapid transit and transit priority, accessibility and station / hub studies.\nProject coordination and team leadership for various projects and clients.Complete projects and team activities related to traffic, transit or multi-modal transportation planning and engineering projects across the country.\nWrite proposals and support other marketing and administrative efforts.\nAttend meetings and liaise with various private and public sector clients and sub-consultants.\nTravel as required to support project needs.\nLearning and Development\nCommit to self-development, ongoing learning, and professional development.\nDrive continuous learning and mentor junior staff in data science and digital project delivery methodologies, developing the next generation of tech-forward leaders.\nContribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.\nQualifications\nA degree in urban planning, civil engineering or equivalent; a Master’s Degree would be an asset.\nTwo (2) to six (6) years of professional experience.\nProficient use of Microsoft Excel, including some basic programing skills. Proficiency working with Python is an asset.\nDemonstrated abilities in multidisciplinary project teamwork and coordination.\nWell-developed report writing, organization and interpersonal skills.\nDemonstrated abilities in use of GIS software (ArcView GIS) or traffic modeling software (e.g., Synchro, SimTraffic, VISSIM) is an asset.\nExperience\nThe qualified candidate should be able to demonstrate a strong interest and knowledge in some, or all, of the following (with candidates bringing experience in either traffic engineering OR transit/transportation planning):\nStrategic transit planning and operations studies.\nOn Demand transit studies and implementation plans.\nTransit terminal, station or Mobility hub studies.\nIntegrated mobility / transportation policy development.\nAccessibility studies addressing the needs of persons with disabilities.\nTransit ridership forecasting and financial plans.\nRapid transit corridor business case studies, environmental assessments and/or functional design.\nTransportation master plans, area transportation plans and/or secondary plans for medium and large communities/developments.\nTransit ITS and fleet electrification planning.\nPublic and agency consultation activities, including Public Open Houses/Information Centres and development of other engagement activities.\nTraffic Impact Assessments (TIAs), traffic operations studies, or signal design analysis.\nIntersection capacity analysis, queuing analysis, or road safety reviews.\nStrengths/ Personal Attributes\nAbility to work independently and as part of team.\nAble to think/visualize, long-range implications of decisions and analysis results.\nCommitted to success through personal development and team ad.\nPassionate about issues facing urban transportation.\nStrong communication skills - able to clearly and concisely write for, and speak to, a variety of stakeholder audiences.\nStrong interest in the business development aspects of planning and engineering consulting.\nCompensation :\n$75,000 - $100,000\nDillon is including the salary range that we in good faith believe may offer for this position. It will be dependent on the successful applicant’s education, experience, and skills, in addition to internal equity and geographic region.
