You will be a key member of our Reality Capture Team within the Data Integration Services Practice. You will play a vital role in our multidisciplinary team, preparing advanced survey calculations, mentoring junior staff, and supporting our public-sector clients (federal, provincial, and municipal), Indigenous communities, and private-sector partners.\nAt Dillon, we operate as one team. The successful candidate can be based at any one of our following offices: Halifax, NS, and Saint John, NB.\nResponsibilities\nReceive processed and QA/QC'd geospatial data to calculate detailed survey plans, review building plans, and calculate precise gridline layouts. \nBuild, analyze, and manipulate accurate digital terrain surfaces and 3D models using advanced drafting software.\nProvide senior-level support to the design team regarding coordinate systems, geodetic datums, and adjustments to survey data.\nManage the import and export of processed geospatial data and establish rigorous methodologies for CAD drafting workflows. \nEvaluate, test, and implement new geospatial office tools and applications, including drafting software and cloud data platforms.\nSupervise the quality of CAD drawings and digital deliverables, helping to develop, inform, and implement best practices for drafting workflows, quality control, and data management.\nOversee the organization, tracking, and archiving of digital survey records and drawing databases.\nProviding GIS technical support is an asset.\nLearning and Development\nCommit to self-development, ongoing learning, and professional development.\nContribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.\nQualifications\nA degree in Computer Science, Geography, Surveying, Science, Engineering, or a related field.\nA minimum of 5-10+ years of professional field surveying experience, preferably in the consulting industry, or technical program equivalent.\nDemonstrated abilities in the use of Autodesk software (Civil 3D, Revit, etc.) are an asset.\nDemonstrated abilities in the use of ESRI GIS software (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online) are an asset.\nReport writing, organization, and interpersonal skills are assets.\nVersatile, adaptable, and willing to conduct a variety of tasks.\nExperience\nExtensive experience in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D. Experience with Revit and ArcGIS is an asset.\nProven experience calculating survey plans, building digital surfaces, reviewing structural/building plans, and establishing gridline layouts.\nDemonstrated abilities in multidisciplinary project teamwork and drawing coordination\nStrong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, and organizational skills.\nExperience working with deliverables derived from RPAS (drones) and/or 3D laser scanning point clouds is considered an asset.\nWorking knowledge of the following programs and programming languages is an asset: Pix4D, Power BI, CityEngine, Python, ArcPy, JavaScript, and Arcade.\nWhy choose Dillon\nDillon is powered by people who are technically proficient, passionate about socially important projects, and motivated to deliver superior, tangible results.
