The successful candidate can be based at any one of the following offices: Saint John, Fredericton or Halifax offices\nWe offer flexible work hours andhybrid work arrangements to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life.\nResponsibilities\nWhat your day will look like\nProject Management & Design\nProvide technical input for delivery of water resource management projects and quotations for proposals.\nProvide project management and coordination support for water resources projects.\nUndertake studies, assessments, modeling, preliminary and detailed design, cost estimates, specifications, and input to contract documents.\nUndertake hydrologic and hydraulic modelling and analysis of transportation/highway drainage systems, including bridges, culverts, ditching, grading, and erosion and scour protection.\nFulfill project plans in accordance with established scopes of work, budgets, and schedules to execute high quality projects.\nApply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices.\nDevelop new or novel concepts and approaches and recommend major design changes.\nProvide technical input for complex or unique assignments.\nSupport multi-disciplinary projects or programs.\nDirect and coordinate water resources related activities of engineering and design groups, both from a technical and functional standpoint.\nUndertake hydrologic and hydraulic modelling and analysis of urban infrastructure systems, including surface drainage, storm sewer networks, dual drainage systems, sanitary sewer networks, and combined sewer systems.\nApply monitored and statistical data to models to simulate return-period and continuous scenarios, and to calibrate and validate results.\nProvide project engineering and technical expertise, calculations, and design input to various stormwater management and drainage systems.\nModel, analyze, and interpret results via technical documents and reporting.\nCoordination with cross-disciplines to identify and incorporate relevant data pertaining to hydrologic and hydraulic parameters, system connectivity, discharge points, project constraints, and implementation considerations.\nLearning & Development\nCommit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development.\nInput to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring.\nContribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.\nQualifications\nWhat you will need to succeed\nUndergraduate degree in engineering or applicable technical degree or diploma.\n5+ years’ relevant experience in a consulting environment on water resources engineering projects.\nEligible to hold valid a license from the relevant provincial Professional Engineering Association\nValid G license.\nExperience\nWorking on transportation/highway drainage projects.\nWorking knowledge of AutoCAD and ARC GIS.\nWorking knowledge of Visual OTTHYMO, PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, and related computer models.\nFamiliarity with water balance and continuous simulation modelling.\nExcellent communications, report writing, organization and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to work in a collaborative, team environment.\nExcellent initiative and attention to detail.\nA self-motivated individual looking for advancement opportunities.\nIn addition to a competitive base salary, Dillon offers:\nFlexible work hours and hybrid work arrangement options to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life\nEmployee share purchase planDillon is 100% employee-owned, and share ownership is open to all employees. \nOur annual share dividends have historically outperformed the market average\n\nDillon’s Overtime Directive.This Management Directive establishes a firm-wide 40-hour weekly overtime threshold, after which premium pay applies, ensuring consistent and fair compensation across all Canadian offices.\n\n Competitive benefits package, including:Comprehensive health benefits\nGenerous retirement savings plan with employer matching up to 5.5%\nStudent loan repayment assistance\nWellness allowance and enhanced mental health benefits\nAmple paid vacation\nEmployee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP)\nGoodlife Fitness Corporate Membership rates\n\n Early Career Development (ECD) programAt Dillon, we build careers.
