Services that support the software development process are key components of the platform, as they provide our engineering teams with tools, processes, and infrastructure to develop software for our business.\nAbout the Role:\nWe are looking for a Senior SRE to serve as the operations owner for the developer tooling ecosystem that shapes how engineers work day to day, including Python and .NET toolchains and IDEs. This is a hybrid role balancing steady-state operations and engineering work that meaningfully advances the tooling and the people who depend on them.\nThis role suits someone who is genuinely motivated by the pursuit of excellence - someone who takes pride in the products and services they own and is always looking for the next opportunity to raise the bar, whether that means eliminating a friction point in the local development experience or building automation that lets developers focus on code rather than tooling.\nWhat You’ll Work On:\nOperations & Reliability\nServe as a primary escalation point for production support across each of the developer tooling ecosystems\n\nOwn the operational reliability of developer tooling ecosystems, including Python toolchains (uv, Poetry, etc.), .NET SDKs, and IDE configurations and extensions\n\nMonitor product and service health and performance, proactively identifying and addressing issues before they impact developer productivity\n\nMaintain and continuously improve runbooks, escalation procedures, and operational documentation\n\nCollaborate with security to harden developer tooling configurations and manage software vulnerabilities\n\nContribute to on-call rotations and maintain runbooks and escalation procedures\n\nPlatform Engineering\nCreate and maintain standardized developer tooling configurations and distribution mechanisms - making it easy for engineers to get started, stay current, and stay unblocked\n\nLead or contribute to developer experience initiatives, using data (build times, pipeline success rates, time-to-first-commit) to identify the highest impact friction points and build solutions that address them at scale\n\nParticipate in architecture reviews and contribute to the overall platform roadmap\n\nWhat We’re Looking For:\nBachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience\n\n5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, platform engineering, or developer tooling-focused role\n\nSolid understanding of Python ecosystem tooling - dependency management (Poetry, uv), virtual environments, and packaging\n\nFamiliarity with .NET development tooling and SDK management in an enterprise environment\n\nProficiency in scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar)\n\nA track record of not just operating products and services but evolving them\n\nStrong communication skills and genuinely interested in partnering with developers across the organization\n\nDemonstrated ability to drive incidents to resolution and communicate clearly under pressure\n\nA bias toward automation and a low tolerance for repetitive manual work\n\nNice to Have: \nExperience leveraging SDLC platforms to deliver software solutions\n\nExperience building or maintaining internal developer portals or self-service tooling\n\nExposure to IDE plugin or extension management at scale (VS Code, JetBrains, Visual Studio)\n\nExperience with developer experience metric frameworks\n\nFamiliarity with container-based build environments or ephemeral CI runners\n\nDimensional offers a variety of programs to help take care of you, your family, and your career, including comprehensive benefits, educational initiatives, and special celebrations of our history, culture, and growth.\nIt is the policy of the Company to provide equal opportunity for all employees and applicants.
