You care deeply about the craft of reliability and find satisfaction in the distance traveled between good and great, whether that means tightening observability, reducing toil, or building something that makes support activities easier to handle.\nWhat You’ll Work On:\nOperations & Reliability (~ 50%)\nServe as a primary escalation point for production support involving Airflow and UC4 - assisting end-user inquiries, incident root cause analysis, and implementing go-forward solutions\n\nOwn and continuously improve SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets for orchestration platforms\n\nMonitor platform health, capacity, and performance; proactively identify and remediate issues before they impact users\n\nPartner with data engineering and application teams to troubleshoot DAG failures, job dependencies, and scheduling issues\n\nManage patching, upgrades, and configuration management for Airflow and UC4 environments\n\nCollaborate with security to harden platform configurations and manage software vulnerabilities\n\nContribute to on-call rotations and maintain runbooks and escalation procedures\n\nPlatform Engineering (~ 50%)\nDesign and build tooling and automation to reduce toil and improve developer experience for teams that depend on Airflow and UC4 (among other platforms the team offers)\n\nLead or contribute to platform modernization initiatives- e.g., migrating workloads, improving deployment pipelines, containerizing components, or adopting managed service offerings\n\nDevelop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Helm, Ansible, etc.) for platform components\n\nBuild observability solutions (e.g., dashboards, alerting, log aggregation) that give teams better visibility into their workflows\n\nBuild and enforce standards around platform use that help engineering teams adopt best practices at scale\n\nParticipate in design reviews and contribute to the overall platform roadmap\n\nWhat We’re Looking For:\nBachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience\n\n5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering roles\n\nDeep hands-on experience with Apache Airflow - ideally including distributed executor configurations (Celery or Kubernetes), DAG authoring best practices, and multi-environment deployments\n\nExperience operating enterprise job scheduling platforms (e.g., Automic/UC4, Control-M, etc.)\n\nStrong Linux and Windows systems knowledge and comfort working in cloud environments (AWS preferred)\n\nProficiency in Python for automation and tooling; familiarity with shell scripting\n\nExperience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker) and CI/CD pipelines\n\nSolid understanding of observability principles - metrics, logging, tracing - and tools like ELK, Grafana, and Prometheus\n\nDemonstrated ability to drive incidents to resolution and communicate clearly under pressure\n\nA bias toward automation and a low tolerance for repetitive manual work\n\nNice to Have: \nExperience with Automic/UC4\n\nExperience with managed Airflow offerings (e.g., AWS MWAA, Cloud Composer, Astronomer)\n\nFamiliarity with data platform ecosystems (e.g., dbt, Kafka, Snowflake)\n\nExperience migrating workloads from legacy schedulers to modern orchestration tools\n\nPrior experience defining and managing error budgets and SLO frameworks\n\n#LI-Hybrid\nDimensional offers a variety of programs to help take care of you, your family, and your career, including comprehensive benefits, educational initiatives, and special celebrations of our history, culture, and growth.\nIt is the policy of the Company to provide equal opportunity for all employees and applicants.
