This role prepares and reviews advanced accounting work, resolves moderately complex accounting issues, supports acquisition and system-related initiatives, and collaborates with auditors and tax partners. The Senior Accounting Supervisor provides daily guidance, coaching, and oversight to accounting staff, reinforces internal controls, and contributes to process improvements that enhance the efficiency and quality of accounting operations.\nEssential Functions & Responsibilities:\nCoordinate assigned monthly close activities by preparing and reviewing journal entries, monitoring close timelines, and ensuring accuracy and completeness across higher-risk areas.\nPrepare and review financial statements and subsidiary or acquisition reporting packages, including supporting schedules and management reporting.\nResearch and resolve complex accounting issues, interpret applicable GAAP guidance, and escalate matters requiring higher-level review.\nSupport acquisition accounting and Workday initiatives by reviewing reporting packages, recording monthly activity, and assisting with system transitions and process updates.\nPrepare and review complex balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring reconciling items are investigated, documented, and resolved promptly.\nCoordinate income and property tax activities with external consultants, including annual payments, returns, and compliance documentation.\nSupport external financial and tax audits by managing audit requests, reviewing PBC documentation, and ensuring alignment with general ledger activity and internal controls.\nProvide daily supervision and guidance to accounting staff, assigning work to support close deadlines, department priorities, and development goals.\nReview staff work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.\nDeliver coaching, training, and process improvement recommendations to support employee development and enhance accounting operations.\nPerform additional duties as assigned by management.\nKey Skills & Experience:\nBA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.\n7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including strong general ledger, financial reporting, and month-end close background.\nDemonstrated GAAP proficiency, including the ability to research and apply guidance to moderately complex accounting matters.\nExperience with Workday or a comparable ERP; strong Microsoft Excel skills.\nAdvanced analytical and problem-solving ability with the capacity to resolve complex accounting issues and support cross-functional inquiries.\nExperience supporting external audits and tax consultants, including preparation and review of PBCs, reconciliations, and compliance documentation.\nSupervisory or team-lead experience, with the ability to review work, coach staff, and support performance development.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills working with cross-functional teams, auditors, and leadership.\nProcess-improvement mindset, with the ability to identify recurring issues and recommend enhancements.\nCPA and/or public accounting experience preferred.\nBenefits:\nPersonal and Sick Paid Time Off.\n401k with a highly competitive match.\n11 Paid Holidays\nMedical/Dental and Vision.\nGroup Life Insurance, HSA/FSA\nEmployee Assistance Program\nEducational Assistance Program\nWork Schedule: Mon - Fri 8:30 am - 5:00 pm CST\nTravel: This position requires periodic travel, up to 20%, to support operational needs such as audit activities, team collaboration, and occasional meetings with external partners.\nInternal Mapping: This role aligns to the internal job profile of Senior Supervisor, Accounting within the Accounting job family.\nPhysical Requirements:\n\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak, hear, have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
