Record customer transactions with zero tolerance towards inaccuracy and to eliminate fraud risk.\n\nMinimum Requirements…\n\nEssential:\n\n Grade 12 / Matric\n\n Minimum of 2 years cashier related work experience, of which 6 months should be shadowing a Cashier Supervisor\n\n Sound numerical skills\n\n Computer literate – MS Office\n\n Willing and able to work retail hours.\n\nAdvantageous:\n\n Certificate in Computer Literacy\n\n 3 years’ work experience, with 1 year supervisory experience\n\n Working knowledge of SAP\n\nJob Specification…\n\n Manage and report all customer compliments and complaints to management.\n\n Ensure branch queues flow smoothly.\n\n Pay attention to the manner in which customers respond to cashiers, and act accordingly.\n\n Manage the shorts and overs at the points of sale, including floats.\n\n Manage discrepancies at the point of sale.\n\n Authorise line voids, tender ups and price overrides.\n\n Manage refunds and returns transactions according to Dis-Chem operating procedures.\n\n Transact all purchases – receive and process all types of payments (cash, card, vouchers, coupons and other payments accepted by Dis-Chem).\n\nEnsure accurate document control by checking the following:\n\n Drop registers\n\n Documents verification\n\n Customer documentation\n\n Correct handling of the gloats as per our standard operating procedures.\n\n All other documentation related to till operations\n\n Ensure back shopping and returned goods are handled correctly.\n\n Ensure all outgoing stock/items/scripts are scanned.\n\n Train and assist new cashiers\n\nCompetencies\n\nEssential: \n\n Cashier and retail operations knowledge\n\n Customer service and relations\n\n Dis-Chem supervisory principles, practices and methods\n\n Lead, motivate and inspire\n\n Problem solving\n\n Sound numerical skills\n\n Trustworthy and honest\n\n Presentable\n\n Strong command of the English language and an additional language\n\n Time
