You will ensure that basic Dis-Chem merchandising standards are properly executed and maintained. Your responsibilities will also lie in providing excellent customer service.\n\nMinimum Requirements:\nEssential:Grade 12 / Matric\nUp to 6 months’ retail experience\nComputer literate – MS Office\nWilling and able to work retail hours\n\nAdvantageous:\nAt least 1 year retail experience\n\nJob Description:\nRestock merchandise as needed to ensure maximum sales\nEnsure delivered stock/stock pulled from the storeroom, is stored and packed in the correct space timeously\nEnsure stock on shelves has not reached sell-by date\nEnsure the full range of products is on the shelves at all times\nFacilitate rotation of stock on a regular, FIFO basis\nReport low stock levels, out-of-stock items, damaged stock and expired stock to management\nAssist with counting of stock files and general stocktaking\nAdhere to Dis-Chem’s operating standards, store layout and planograms\nEnsure boxes are flattened after unpacking stock, and taken to the designated area\nEnsure front shop shelves and products are neatly presented and visible at all times, with correct labels and pricing\nReport all price discrepancies to management\nKeep abreast of current and new products\nEnsure merchandising displays are built, faced up, stocked and maintained\nMaintain daily physical upkeep of store and merchandise displays, and be responsible for your designated stock in the storeroom as well as on the shop floor\nAssist with loading and off-loading of stock\nEnsure items without barcodes are clearly marked\nAssist with back shopping\nAssist in training of new staff\nProvide friendly, helpful and courteous assistance and advice to all customers\nEnsure all out of stock queries from customers are followed up with the customer service out of stock list\nEnsure all customer stock queries are dealt with and resolved\nEnsure the correct uniform and badge are worn at all times\nMinimise any losses by handling all merchandise carefully\nAdhere to Dis-Chem policies and procedures, SOPs and health and safety rules and regulations\n\nCompetencies:\nEssential:\nStrong command of the English language\nPresentable\nEffective engagement with customers, management and staff\nTrustworthy and honest\nTime management\n\nAdvantageous:\nBilingual\nKnowledge of merchandising standards and the FMCG industry\nProduct and category knowledge\nAbility to analyse ZMORE reports for ordering and stock taking\nReport bad/suspicious behaviour relating to both staff and customers\n\nSpecial conditions of employment: \nWilling and able to work retail hours\nAble and physically fit to lift and move heavy boxes, and ensure health and safety standards are adhered to\nReliable transport and/or reside in close proximity to the store\nSouth African citizen\nClear credit and criminal records\n\nRemuneration and benefits:\nMarket-related salary\nMedical aid\nProvident fund\nStaff account\n\nONLY SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL BE CONTACTED.
