Come and join us!\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nDelivering high-quality, high-impact projects that unlock new capabilities for game developers. This could include anything from our APIs, the Discord app, developer portal, realtime infrastructure, or even our C++ SDKs. Whatever it takes to get the important thing done.\nCollaborating with the other engineers on your team to write, review, and ship elegant and scalable code. You take pride in the fact that your code will be used by millions and millions of people!\nLeading projects through the whole life cycle: from gathering requirements, breaking down milestones into smaller pieces, building, then shipping the thing.\nListening and working with our game developer partners to better understand their needs in order to improve our tools. This could mean hopping into partner meetings with our Solutions Engineers or working with our DevRel team to answer their questions.\nWorking with product managers, designers, and partner managers to cut through ambiguity and find the way forward.\nMaintaining performance and reliability standards for our features.\nUsing your attention to detail to continually raise the quality bar of the software we write.\nWhat you should have:\n5+ years professional experience as a software engineer.\nExperience with some parts of our tech stack. This is mainly Python and Typescript/React, but could include Elixir, Rust, or C++. You are comfortable switching across stacks or learning new ones.\nExperience building software that leverages large data based applications. Data plays a huge part in the work that we do and how we support our developer partners.\nYou have a sense for product and design. We don’t operate in silos, and you’ll be collaborating closely with cross-functional peers. You should be able to express opinions and collaborate to make something great.\nA holistic approach to problem solving. You believe in solving a problem from first principles rather than simply shipping a solution. You learn from your mistakes and work through obstacles with the rest of the team.\nYou actively leverage AI coding tools to accelerate your productivity.\nBonus Points\nExperience working with scale.\nExperience with mobile development.\nDirect experience leveraging a cloud platform (eg GCP, Amazon, or Azure) to serve as the backend infrastructure for a product.\nBonus bonus points: Experience with game development.\nThe base salary range for this full-time position is listed below. This position will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
