The role requires strong SQL and coding skills, experience with SQL Server and Azure data platforms, and the ability to transform complex data into actionable information. The role is also expected to apply statistical and data science techniques to uncover trends, predict outcomes, and drive data-driven decision-making.\n\nAreas of responsibility may include but are not limited to:\n\nDevelop and optimise SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects. \n\nAnalyse large datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. \n\nDesign and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards. \n\nSupport Azure-based data and analytics solutions. \n\nApply statistical analysis and predictive modelling techniques to business problems. \n\nEnsure data accuracy, quality, and governance standards. \n\nGather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. \n\nMentor junior team members and promote best practices\n\nKnowledge and Skills:\n\nAdvanced SQL Server and T-SQL development. \n\nExperience with Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Fabric, and Databricks. \n\nStrong Power BI development skills. \n\nData modelling, ETL/ELT, and data warehousing exposure. \n\nExperience with Python, R, or similar analytical programming languages. \n\nKnowledge of statistical modelling, forecasting, machine learning, and data mining techniques. \n\nStrong coding, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation skill\n\nInsurance experience is advantageous \n\nEducation and Experience\n\nEducation:\n\nMatric (Essential)\n\nBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field. \n\nRelevant Microsoft Azure, SQL, Power BI, Data Science, or AI certifications are advantageous.\n\nMinimum Experience: \n\n3 Years experience in any of the fields specified under essential qualification.\n\nEMPLOYMENT EQUITY \n\nThe Company’s approved Employment Equity Plan and Targets will be considered as part of the recruitment process.
