The role ensures a professional, seamless, and customer-centric experience for employees, visitors, and stakeholders while supporting the successful execution of events, meetings, and workplace hospitality services.\n\nThe incumbent will supervise a team of hospitality and concierge employees, ensure service standards are maintained, coordinate operational activities, and support the efficient running of conference and hospitality facilities.\n\nAreas of responsibility may include but not limited to\n\nConference and Events Coordination\n\nCoordinate the planning and delivery of meetings, conferences, town halls, and internal events.\n\nSupport event logistics, venue preparation, catering, and stakeholder requirements.\n\nEnsure conference facilities are prepared and operational before events.\n\nMonitor event execution and resolve operational issues as they arise.\n\nAssist with post-event reviews and feedback collection.\n\nHospitality and Concierge Operations\n\nCoordinate day-to-day hospitality and concierge services.\n\nEnsure a professional and welcoming experience for employees, visitors, and guests.\n\nSupport VIP visits and executive meetings through effective hospitality coordination.\n\nMonitor adherence to hospitality service standards.\n\nAddress and resolve routine service-related queries and issues.\n\nConference Centre and Forum Operations\n\nOversee the daily operation of meeting rooms, conference facilities, and hospitality areas.\n\nCoordinate venue bookings and room setup requirements.\n\nEnsure facilities, catering, and audio-visual requirements are arranged and functional.\n\nEscalate facility-related issues where required.\n\nMonitor venue utilisation and service delivery standards.\n\nStakeholder Support\n\nAct as a key contact for event organisers and internal stakeholders.\n\nLiaise with business areas to understand event and meeting requirements.\n\nEnsure stakeholder requests are communicated and executed effectively.\n\nProvide regular updates on event and hospitality arrangements.\n\nTeam Supervision\n\nSupervise and support the Hospitality and Concierge team.\n\nAllocate daily tasks and ensure appropriate service coverage.\n\nProvide on-the-job coaching and guidance.\n\nMonitor individual performance and service standards.\n\nPromote a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and customer service excellence.\n\nGovernance and Compliance\n\nEnsure compliance with Discovery policies and procedures.\n\nAdhere to health and safety requirements within conference and hospitality facilities.\n\nMaintain operational records and reporting requirements.\n\nIdentify operational risks and escalate as appropriate.\n\nEducation and Experience\n\nEssential\n\nDiploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field.\n\n3-5 years' experience within hospitality, conferencing, concierge, customer service, or workplace services.\n\n1-2 years' experience supervising or leading a team.\n\nExperience coordinating corporate meetings, events, or hospitality services.\n\nAdvantageous\n\nExperience in a conference centre, hospitality, or corporate services environment.\n\nCustomer Service or Hospitality Management certification.\n\nExperience working within a large corporate organisation.\n\nCompetencies\n\nLeadership and People Management\n\nTeam supervision\n\nCoaching and development\n\nPlanning and organising\n\nAccountability\n\nProblem solving\n\nCustomer and Stakeholder Focus\n\nCustomer service excellence\n\nRelationship management\n\nProfessional communication\n\nStakeholder engagement\n\nConflict resolution\n\nTechnical Competencies\n\nEvent coordination\n\nHospitality operations\n\nConference and venue management\n\nScheduling and resource coordination\n\nAdministrative and reporting skills\n\nBehavioural Competencies\n\nService orientation\n\nAttention to detail\n\nProfessional presence\n\nAdaptability\n\nInitiative\n\nResilience under pressure\n\nCollaboration\n\nCustomer-centric mindset\n\nEmployment Equity \n\nThe Company’s approved Employment Equity Plan and Targets will be considered as part of the recruitment process.
